Robert and Jade's attention moved to Jason and Natalie, Jason was uncomfortable, he didn't want to see Jade's face again, certainly not on the same day she ditched him.

Robert holds Jade's hand firm.

“Darling, why don't we sit opposite them”

His cheeks moved to his eyes, Jade was smiling too, but it couldn't be compared to the smile on Robert.

Natalie faced Jason.

“Don't look at them, just let them be”

Jason's fist tightened, but he nods to Natalie's words.

He focused his attention on the dishes in front of him.

Natalie was quick in tasting all the dishes on the table before Robert and Jade finally reached them.

Robert stopped close to Jason, then he faced the waiter standing some distance away.

“Hey!!, How can you serve him special dishes without collecting the bills first, does this look like somebody that can afford a hundred thousand dollars”

Jade also glances at the dishes before she faces Jason.

“Jason, how can you order so many special dishes, can you even afford one. This is a hundred thousand dollars, can your entire generation even provide so much money”

Jason's fist tightened, but he stayed quiet to their words.

“Waiter!!!, Come here quickly, you better collect the bills before this hobo finishes the meal”

The waitress standing by the door finally stepped forward to the scene, she was holding the payment machine in her hand, she approached Jason.

“Sir, how about you pay the bills now. The amount is a hundred thousand dollars”

Jason frowns seeing she was asking him for the bills, she was the waitress who attended to them first, and she heard it clearly when Natalie said she will cover the bills.

He wonders why she is asking him.

Jason waited for a minute, hoping Natalie would rectify the issue, but she stayed quiet, and she was busy checking out all the dishes.

“She will handle the bills”

He struggled to say the words, he felt ashamed a little, especially since Robert and Jade were standing close to them.

Natalie sounded immediately.

“What are you saying, Jason. Didn't you say you will handle the bills”

She frowns deeply.

“How shameless are you, you took me out on a date, now you want me to handle the bills”

Jason was stupefied.

Natalie faced the waitress.

“He will handle the bills”

Jason was dumbfounded, he should've known that a snake remains a snake even after changing its skin.

This was her plan all along, but thank goodness, there was a camera watching.

Jason stays calmed.

“I should've known that you are evil, apologizing for what Jade did, what a fool I was to believe you”

Robert burst out laughing.

“Thank goodness you know that you are a fool, now pay the bills”

Jade shakes her head feeling disappointed.

“Jason, why must you pretend that you are rich, accept the fact that you are poor, and you can never live our kind of life. Now, how are you going to pay for the bills”

She was smiling inside, finally Jason was done for, she will do anything to make sure Jason doesn't show his face in school again, he shouldn't be among them anyway, him and those rats, those bunch of freeloaders.

The waitress faced Jason.

“Sir, you have to pay the bills now, you have already touched all the food on the table, we don't refund special dishes anyway”

She dropped the payment machine close to Jason.

Jason pushed it slowly to Natalie's side.

“I have told you already, she is the one handling the bills”

Natalie's face darkened, she smashed her fist on the table, and stood up quickly.

“How could you be this shameless, you told me that you will handle the bills, why are you changing your words now”

She faced the waitress.

“Please get your security men here now, beat this bastard up for the money, if he doesn't provide it, then take him as a worker or throw him in jail!”

Jason couldn't help but feel more disappointed in himself for believing Natalie, this is exactly who she is, he should've known.

Robert roars.

“Jason, provide the money. You are not a man, how can you ask a woman to pay for the meals you ate”

Jade shakes her head feeling more disappointed.

“This is one of the reasons I broke up with you, you are too poor and you still pretend. We are not going to help you on this, you must provide the money!”

Jason gazed at Jade.

“Like I would ever ask a bitch for help”

Jade's heart kicked. Jason points the camera station at the wall close to them.

“The evidence you seek is in there, ask the team to play back the recording, she admitted that she is the one paying the bills!”

Jason faced the waitress.

“You heard her too, but you are pretending to be dumb, let see what your audio recording will say”

Natalie was flabbergasted by Jason's words, even the waitress too, Natalie looked at Robert, he was still smiling, which probably means he has this under control.

Robert sounded.

“She will need to take permission from her boss”

The waitress nods quickly.

“I need to ask my boss for permission”

Jason adjusted himself in his seat.

“Call your boss then”

He has nothing to worry about, Natalie said it herself that she will handle the bills.

Jade cried out.

“I can't believe you actually don't have a hundred thousand dollars, you are such an under par”

She was angry that Jason dared to insult her; she must make sure he is dealt with, before he faces his punishment.

The waitress walked away to call her boss.

Robert brought his phone out, his dad is friends with Mr. Landon, and he is also a good friend of Mr. Landon too, Mr. Landon is already helping him with this, but who would've thought that Jason will be smart enough to spot the camera, now he has to ask Mr. Landon for help again.

[I will make it three. Three hot girls]

He knows the dark side of Mr. Landon, his love for young girls is unconditional, and he is perfect at arranging such a thing.

[I am on my way]

Robert's cheeks moved seeing Mr. Landon's fast response, he faced Jason with a smile, this will be the last time he will see this pauper face, Mr. Landon can have him killed and nobody will ask him any questions, nobody will notice anyway.

An hour later, the waitress appeared in the room again.

“Our boss is on his way”

At that moment, hearing what her friend just said, Camilla forced out a small laugh, one that barely concealed the uneasy flutter in her chest. She scratched the back of her neck slightly and smiled awkwardly, her voice a little shaky but still laced with grace as she responded.“Sure, sure… no problem about that,” she said, trying to keep her tone light and unbothered, even though deep inside, she felt a tinge of humiliation pressing against her pride. Her heart thumped with nerves, but she couldn't let it show. Not now.She gave a faint chuckle and added, “That might even be the best time for all of you to meet him, honestly. Just imagine it… meeting for the first time at Paso Mikazu. It would’ve been such a memory, right? With all the atmosphere, the animals, the excitement—like something from a movie.”She looked down for a moment, pretending to straighten a wrinkle on her dress just to avoid their eyes.“But well,” she continued, clearing her throat gently, “there’s really nothin

But just as she reached the hallway leading to her bedroom, a voice suddenly pierced the air behind her.“Wait, Camilla!” one of the ladies called out, half-laughing, half-serious. “Before you go... don’t you think it would be better if you introduced us to your husband-to-be?”The scene fell into a curious hush. The other women looked at each other, nodding slowly, their eyes twinkling with playful curiosity. The speaker added quickly, “I mean, it’s not by force o—but we’re your close friends, Camilla. Very close. And the wedding is coming up so soon, and yet... none of us have seen this mysterious man of yours.”Her tone was gentle but filled with a hint of suspicion. It wasn’t said with malice, but there was weight in her words. Questions that had been simmering quietly in their minds were now finally being voiced. She chuckled softly and went on, “It’s just somehow, you know? We don’t even know the man that’s about to marry our dear friend. This man must be really lucky to have yo

At that moment, the room fell into a brief silence the second Joe’s question sliced through the air. It was direct, simple, and logical — yet it hit Camilla like a dart in the chest. Her fingers twitched slightly, and for a fraction of a second, she couldn’t move, couldn’t blink. Her breath caught in her throat. She hadn’t thought that far.Camilla had crafted her story with just enough flair and urgency to sound convincing. She had built it up with the right amount of frustration and disappointment, playing the victim of circumstance — as though she too had been blindsided by the sudden cancellation from Pasu Mikazu. But in truth, there was no message, no emergency board meeting, and certainly no interior design overhaul. It was all a lie. A desperate lie she had spun out of panic because the real reason behind the cancellation was something she couldn’t share or something that didn’t even exist. And now innocently curious, had unknowingly touched the one spot she had failed to cove

Upon hearing what someone just said, the tension in the room began to shift. The guests, who just moments ago had been brimming with confusion and subtle annoyance, slowly calmed down. Their lips closed, arms folded more gently, and eyes began to flicker not with anger but with curiosity and concern. From the way Camilla stood there, her hands loosely folded in front of her, her tone carefully chosen, and the faint tightness around her eyes, they could all tell one thing for sure she wasn’t pleased either. And that truth, more than anything, softened the mood.Camilla gave a slow nod, acknowledging their silence, before she took a small breath and continued in a quiet, almost apologetic voice. “I was actually getting ready,” she began, glancing from one friend to another, “Everything was being prepared—my outfit, the gift packs, even the little safari hats we talked about. I was even about to call you all… when I got the message.”She paused, her brows knitting slightly, allowing the

The other man nodded slowly from his seat, his tone more serious now. “We report through layers. Voices over phones. Orders passed down through encrypted channels. Even our promotions? Delivered by sealed letters and second-tier hands.”The first man stepped closer again, dropping his voice lower. “And that’s the kind of world we live in here. A world where ghosts hold the real power. You think getting promoted makes you special? Makes you close to something big? You’re wrong. You’re still in the outer circle. We all are.”He leaned in just a little, his eyes burning with the truth he’d carried for too long. “You could spend your whole life serving this organization… giving your blood, your soul, your loyalty—and still, you’ll never even catch a glimpse of the ones who pull the real strings.”He stepped back, shaking his head slightly as if even speaking those words stirred up a quiet frustration within him.“So you better think twice,” he added, voice flat. “Before dreaming too big.

At that moment, hearing what the two men just said, the man standing before them felt something shift inside him. It wasn’t anger—not yet—but a quiet burn, deep and steady. It was disappointment laced with frustration, like a match that had been lit too many times and still refused to spark. The look in their eyes, the tone of their voices—it all told him what he already knew. They didn’t believe him, they never truly had.He had stood before these two men many times before. Each time he brought something forward—intel, observation, warning—they received it with the same smirk hidden behind calm faces. They saw him as small. An errand boy. A tool. Someone good enough to run messages, carry burdens, but never trusted enough to be let near the real decisions. And worse, they made sure he knew it.They never raised their voices. They never openly dismissed him. But the way they asked questions, the way they exchanged glances behind his back, the way they pretended to “consider” what he s
