A Power Emitted

Zeion couldn't halt his heart's rapid beating. How could he? Before his heartbeat stopped, his life would surely be the first to vanish here.

The blade of the man's sword couldn't be stopped. Zeion could only widen his eyes in fear and wince, covering his face.

Tings...

The sound of a heavy collision disrupted the atmosphere. The three of them were left baffled by the surge of energy enveloping Zeion. It was white and shimmered like the movement of calm water.

"Is this what's known as boundless energy?" asked the man with the prominent nose.

Zeion was taken aback by his own action, continuously gazing at his clean unblemished hands.

"Why is this happening? What's going on?" he wondered, then looked up.

"What is this child doing? Why didn't my attack harm him?"

The large-bodied man didn't stay still. He raised his sword again and swung it sideways.

Tings...

Just like before, a resounding collision echoed. The sharp blade was unable to touch Zeion's skin, instead it broke apart into pieces in a terrifying manner.

Zeion and the large-bodied man grew even more puzzled. They were slow to realize what had occurred.

"Indeed, this might be the power I've had all along! That day, that day, and today... they're all the same..."

Zeion's face slowly turned to look deeply at the large-bodied man, an overwhelming sense of horror emanating from within. He wondered, what kind of gaze was this? Those white eyes were incredibly eerie in the darkness of night.

"Child... don't get cocky!" the large-bodied man yelled, clenching his fist. A special flow of energy surrounded it, enhancing its strength, then he lunged forward to breach the defense protecting Zeion.

"I'll crush your body..." he exclaimed, delivering a powerful punch.

"Destruction Technique, Eruption..."

Crash...

This moment defied description. Anyone witnessing it would surely scream in terror. Blood splattered from the partially destroyed body, intestines, and other organs scattered.

The large-bodied man, who had been enthusiastic about delivering the blow, suddenly fell limp. The spark of life had vanished from his face. His eyes were vacant, devoid of soul.

Only a question mark remained in Zeion's mind. Was this truly his power?

"Absolutely fascinating! I didn't expect a 10-year-old to possess such strength..." muttered the man with the prominent nose. A delighted smile accompanied his words.

Blood clung to Zeion's hands, the horror of his actions weighed heavily on his mind. He was still in shock about it; he had taken a human life for the first time.

Next, there was no explanation. They continued their journey without incident until they emerged from the mist that had obscured their view.

Now their destination shifted to a place that was much calmer, even picturesque. Dense forests stretched on either side, and they ventured into the forest.

As night fell, a haunting atmosphere enveloped Zeion. He struggled to believe the events of the day.

He gazed at the roaring flames, memories of the earlier incident replaying in his mind. The blood of the person he had killed, the pained expression, and the cries of suffering echoed relentlessly.

"Don't dwell on it!" The man's sudden words disrupted Zeion's thoughts.

Zeion's gaze shifted toward him, the man's face was chilling to behold, but it was the man who seemed unnerved. Even in the darkness of the night, he could clearly see Zeion's white eyes.

A great energy seemed ready to explode, be driven by a desire for destruction.

"You did what you had to do today! Consider it self-defense; don't think of it as a sin!" He continued, shifting his attention to the fire.

Though it was meant to be comforting, Zeion still felt as if he had done something wrong. Life was precious to him; that's what Enia had taught him.

"Am I not a normal human?" he asked with a despondent tone.

The man was a little shocked by this question. The terms 'ordinary' or 'normal' were likely not something he often heard, especially from a child who wielded great power.

"No need to ask that! In this world, there's what's considered normal, but there's also what's called extraordinary! You belong to the category of those with extraordinary power!"

"Is that so?" This question was more aimed at himself. Was it true that having this great power classified him as extraordinary, or was he more akin to a ferocious monster?

"And your power isn't meant to be confined to the wrong place; you should be where your extraordinary power truly belongs," the man continued.

Zeion clenched his fists, pondering. Was there truly a place for someone like him?

Days passed until the tenth day arrived, a grueling journey for a 10-year-old child. Traveling thousands of meters was exhausting for his body, but at least it didn't apply to Zeion.

His legs showed no signs of fatigue; it was as if he had traveled like this before. The energy within his body remained perfect.

They arrived at a region called Victorian, the highest peak on the continent. The air and scent were different there, and his senses heightened.

"Is this it? Why do I feel so liberated here?" Zeion asked, extending his arms as a gentle breeze passed through. He sensed energy flowing smoothly through his veins.

"Can you feel it?" The man quickly asked, curious about Zeion's peculiar reaction.

Zeion nodded enthusiastically. "My body feels filled with freedom. What kind of place is this?"

The man smiled an eerie sight at this moment. Thankfully, Zeion paid it no mind.

Raising both hands, he followed with his words, "This is a place for people like you! A place for those who possess boundaries beyond those of normal beings..."

"Normal beings..." The words sounded painful to Zeion's ears, his face drooping.

The man observed Zeion's downcast expression, an expression similar to when they first met. The ominous aura of darkness surrounds someone like him.

"We should leave this place quickly! You will meet my master, and you must prepare yourself..."

Zeion's emotions halted at these words. He saw the man had already walked ahead, his feet hastening to catch up.

"Prepare? For what?" he asked.

"You'll find out soon enough. Just know that you must be prepared! Don't let your guard down; you could die..." His pupils emphasized this, evoking a sense of dread in Zeion.
