Chapter one hundred and eighty six

Jonathan’s heart sank. What did she want to talk about? He wasn’t ready for this. “What’s up, Elena?” he asked, trying to sound casual despite his pounding headache.

“I’ll tell you when I see you. Meet me at the coffee shop on 5th and Main at 10 am,” she said, her tone brooking no argument.

Jonathan sighed, rubbing his temples again. This was not how he wanted to spend his morning. “Fine, I’ll be there,” he said, with a resigned tone.

As he hung up the phone, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that his day was about to get a whole lot worse. He quickly took his bath but slowly got dressed, his head still pounding, and made his way to the coffee shop. When he arrived, Elena was already there, sipping on a cup of coffee.

“Hey,” she said, her expression serious.

Jonathan nodded, taking a seat across from her. “What’s going on, Elena?”

Elena took a deep breath before launching into a story about Cleopatra, Rhys’s death, and a mysterious plot involving Cleopatra’s father.
