Chapter one hundred and fifty one

They exchanged another skeptical glance, and Rhys knew they were thinking the same thing: their son had done something impossible, something that defied explanation. As the reality of the situation sank in, Rhys’s parents began to process their emotions. They looked at each other, then at Rhys, their eyes filled with a mix of gratitude, shock, and fear.

“Rhys, what have you gotten yourself into?” his mother asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She was worried that Rhys had done something illegal for their sakes.

Rhys hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. He knew that his parents would never understand the true nature of the Nature’s Tears, or the secret of his space but as he looked into their eyes, he knew he had to tell them something. “I’ll explain everything later,” he promised. “But for now, let’s just focus on getting you better.”
