Lorenzo smiled warmly, extending a hand. “I’m Lorenzo, it is great to see you too.”

As Johnathan shook Lorenzo’s hand, Rhys continued, oblivious to the undercurrents. “Johnathan, Lorenzo was just telling me about his latest project. Fascinating stuff.”

Johnathan’s eyes lit up with interest, and he pulled up a chair, joining the conversation but Lorenzo couldn’t shake the feeling that Johnathan’s smile hid a deeper unease.

As they talked, Lorenzo found himself wondering what had caused Johnathan’s initial frown. Was it something he had done? Or was it simply a case of Johnathan being protective of his friend?
