Chapter sixteen

Harrison Fernandez, the patriarch of the Fernandez family shed tears in the presence of others ignoring his image and what anyone might think of him if they ever found out about it. “Good child, you were able to find your way back home. This is impressive.”

They separated after a while, Harrison was grinning that his eyes turned into slits. “You have a lot to tell us, do not worry about how long it would take, the old man is ready to listen to the tales from his grandson.

“It is nothing much-”

As Rhys was about to continue, they heard the sound of coughing. It was no one but his mother, he rushed back to her side, gently patting her. “The poison is getting worse,” Rhys mumbled to himself.

As if on cue, Lydia coughed out blood before she passed out in Rhys arms. Rhys was moved to tears as he realized how petite and pale his mother was. His grandfather and father were already panicking. “Where is Damien? Why is he not here?!” Harrison thundered at his son.
