Chapter sixty one

Elena couldn’t deny that she was nervous when Rhys asked to speak to her. ‘It was expected,’ She said inwardly. With a smile, Lydia led Jonathan out of the room to give the couple a chance to speak. There was a strange silence in the air; Elena stared at her gown, fidgeting with the ring on her finger. She was nervous about the conversation.

“Rhys-”

“Elena-”

The two of them said simultaneously. Elena glanced at Rhys and then looked away, a blush appearing on her face. “You should go first.”

“Elena, I’m so sorry that I dragged you to this mess. It was impulsive and stupid, but I couldn’t come up with anything else at that moment.” Rhys said sincerely, he felt as if he had stolen something from her. Her choice.
