Chapter sixty six

With just a call from Lydia, three bodyguards entered the house and they took out the bodies, leaving just one. Rhys had killed everyone but one for a reason. The limbs and blood were quickly cleaned up and the room reverted to the normal state it was.

Except for the lingering scent of blood in the air, no one would be able to guess what happened in the room. Lydia insisted on helping Rhys clean up and bandage the injury on his shoulder, she complained a few times while she was finishing the task. “How could you be so careless with your life?”

“I promise, it would never happen again.” Rhys could only try to reassure her but there wasn’t much that he could say that would calm her down.

“What of it has been your heart? What would you have done?
