As the manager led Rhys away, he casts a sympathetic glance at Zain who was leaving… in other words, he was trying to escape. Manager Clark knew that Rhys was someone that Zain couldn’t afford to offend even though he had his family backing him. He could only pray that Zain’s actions were not enough to incur Rhys wrath. The manager directly took Rhys to the penthouse, Rio suddenly let go of Rhys, running back and forth, letting out sounds of exclamation. Rhys smiled at the sight. “Young Master, I would like to know what other orders you might have for me.”Rhys thought for a while. “I need a laptop, also chicken wings with something else for the kid. Asides from that, I wouldn’t like to be disturbed for the next few hours. I have an event to attend at seven, send a tuxedo for myself and the kid, add the matching accessories needed. Most importantly, add an appropriate present for someone who is about to become my ex wife” He smirked at the manager. “Yes sir!” The man silently noted
Hours passed by. He glanced at his watch as his hands kept typing on the keyboard, he was running late and would not make it in time for his soon to be ex wife’s birthday party, the thought of that brought a frown to his face. “Almost done” Rhys said to no one in particular as his fingers moved faster than earlier. Sweat appeared on his brows. After a few minutes, he was done. He glanced at the information he had intercepted and decoded, a wry smile appeared on his face, and the pressure in the room dropped. “Thought you were pretty foxy huh. It’s game over for you Rafael.” After a moment of silence, he checked up on Rio who was still asleep in the space after eating two boxes of chicken wings. Rhys was astonished by his appetite. He turned off the laptop and stood up, glancing at the time once again. It was just a few minutes after seven. Malia’s birthday party had already begun but Rhys didn’t plan on showing up early. He had a good show planned in mind. He whispered to himself.
Rhys was confused by the show both the mother and daughter were putting up, he became amused by it. Ever since he and Malia got married, they had never spoken kind words to him, neither have they accepted him in public. He began to wonder what they were up to.Amidst the crowd, a young boy suddenly appeared, he shuddered as soon as his eyes fell on Rhys straight back which had regal bearing. It was Zain. The manager had informed him about where Rhys would be and he chose to show up in person. He contemplated on approaching him to apologize but decided against it when he noticed the strange tension in the air, not wanting to be dragged in the whirlpool of public drama. “What is the point of this drama?” Rhys asked coldly. “I don’t think we are very familiar with one another.”“How can you say that Rhys,” Malia looked at the ground ‘shyly’, tugging on the side of her gown. “You didn’t forget that it’s my birthday right.”“Of course not, your mother made a lot of effort to inform me,” H
With a smile on his face, Rhys turned towards his wife Malia, he brought out a document from his pocket, he simply glanced at it before handing it over to her. “From today onwards, we will have nothing to do with each other.”Malia shuddered as she collected the document from him. Even without looking at it, from Rhys words, she could easily tell what he meant. “You are divorcing me?” Rhys shook his head. “No, I’m returning your freedom to you. I hope you don’t regret it.”A cold shudder enveloped Malia as she felt the pressure in the air drop. Everyone was giving her strange looks, whispering about her. In the presence of everyone, she had been abandoned. She lets out a scream and lunges herself towards Rhys, He merely steps to the side, out of her reach. Malia loses her balance, also her target and she falls facedown on the ground. “How dare you! Bastard how dare you?” Her face was malevolent, she wanted nothing more but to rip Rhys into shreds.“What is the meaning of this Loser,
Rhys was very relieved when returned to the penthouse, he placed Rio back into the interdimensional space before getting some sleep. He chose not to think about anything or anyone, for the first time in years, he had a proper sleep. As soon as wakes up the next day, he immediately entered the space to continue his meditation. Rhys considered himself weak since he had not even been able to unlock the second layer of the pagoda. While meditating, black impurities escaped from his pores, the stinky smell forced Rhys to open his eyes. The impurities had already pooled under him and he felt very uncomfortable, the thought of some of it still retained in his bones, veins and muscles irritated him greatly.“One step at a time.” He said to reassure himself before he continued to meditate, determined to completely remove the impurities through the pores in his skin. After hours of meditation, he took a bath in the river in the first layer of the pagoda. The layers of black impurities peeled f
Rhys didn’t need to take a bath, he called up the manager and made a few orders. He felt very hungry and was sure that Rio would be too, when he woke up. Manager Clark sprung into action, quickly inviting the hotel’s best chefs to make a set of dishes. He personally supervised it to ensure that nothing went wrong and there was no reason for complaints.Less than an hour passed, when Rhys heard the elevator opening. The manager returned with a group of people with various covered trays in their hands… Someone else also followed the manager, bearing a grin on his face. Rhys ignored the people that arrived, his eyes focused on the laptop before him. After the waiters had arranged the various delicacies on the table, they stood aside, awaiting Rhys orders. The solemn view of the man attracted them. He wasn’t a male model but he should have been. The lush, black hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality, The straight nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. Handsom
A lady wearing a shawl and sunglasses rushed into a hotel, she walked into an elevator and pressed the floor number she wanted to be on…the fourth floor which contains the most expensive services in that building. She looked around nervously, this wasn’t a place for her to be at that moment but she had no other choice. She was in a red district, in other words a brothel. If what she was about to do gets discovered… it could ruin her already damaged reputation. As the elevator stopped, she stepped out of it, looking for a room. When she finally found it, she stood in front of the room for a long time before pushing the door open“I didn’t think you had it in you to come here.” A man in his early thirties is seated on the bed with a glass of wine in his hands, he smirked as the lady enters the room“I’ll do anything to get whatever I want but as usual make sure that this is kept between us.” She was trying to hide the disgust on her eyes even though the man can’t see her.“Yes my fair
They openly giggled after taking a look at her. She searched around for her phone but it was nowhere to be found. Feeling embarrassed, Malia rushed out and flagged down a taxi. As soon as she left, Zain arrived with his friends, Harry led him to the room where they had placed Malia but she was nowhere to be found.“Where is she?” His face darkened with anger while his heart was palpitating out of fear.“Young master, we left her here yesterday. She might have stepped out for a moment.” Harry explained nervously, one of his hand behind his head. “You have gotten me to a lot of trouble. The order was to watch her and not let her get out of sight,” Zain started to punch each of them, despite all the energy he put in his fists, his punches were not hard to inflict a lot of pain. “We are completely doomed. How do I report this to the boss?” Zain shivered, thinking of Rhys frigid face. He was chilled to the bones, while he contemplated on his next line of actions, his lackeys laid on the
And so she watched, helpless and frustrated, as Rhys fought with his life.Rhys was a force to be reckoned with, his fists flying as he took on Nikolai, Christopher, and Atlas. The three men were no match for his skill and determination, and soon they were all on the ground, defeated. Rhys didn’t even notice Elena, who was tied up and helpless, tears streaming down her face. She couldn’t believe her ears as she heard Rhys’ voice, strong and confident, as he fought for his life.“Rhys?” she whispered, her voice barely audible. But Rhys didn’t hear her. He was too busy taking down his enemies, his focus solely on the task at hand.Elena’s heart ached as she watched Rhys, her love for him overflowing. She had thought she would never see him again, and yet here he was. She struggled against her bonds, trying to break free, but they were too tight. She was trapped, unable to move or escape. And so she watched, helpless and frustrated, as Rhys fought for his life. She knew that he was stron
The helplessness was suffocating, crushing her beneath its weight. Nikolai gloated, his eyes gleaming with triumph. “You see, I’ve always wanted to gain control of the Fernandez family. And now, with you in my grasp, I can finally do it.”Christopher stepped forward, his eyes cold and calculating. “Yes, Lydia, you’re a valuable pawn in our game. And soon, you’ll be nothing more than a memory.”Lydia’s eyes widened in shock as she realized that Christopher was a traitor, a betrayer of the worst kind. The revelation was like a punch to the gut, leaving her breathless and reeling. “You’re a monster,” she spat, her voice muffled by the gag.Christopher just laughed, his eyes glinting with amusement. “Oh, Lydia, you have no idea what I’m capable of. I’ve been playing a long game, and you’re just a small part of it.”Nikolai chuckled, his eyes gleaming with approval. “Yes, Christopher has been very helpful in our plans. He’s been instrumental in capturing Rhys as a child, and also in poison
The room seemed to darken, as if the shadows themselves were closing in around them, suffocating them with an unseen force. The air was thick with anticipation, heavy with the weight of unspoken words. “When did this happen?” Jonathan asked, his voice firm, but laced with a hint of desperation.Rhys’ eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He could feel the tension building, like a storm about to break. “What’s going on?” Rhys mouthed to Jonathan, his voice barely audible over the pounding of his own heart.Jonathan held up a hand, signaling Rhys to wait, his eyes fixed on some unseen point, as if trying to will the answer into existence. The silence was oppressive, a physical force that pressed down upon them, making it hard to breathe. Rhys felt like he was drowning in a sea of uncertainty.“I’ll mobilize my men, Uncle. We’ll find them,” Jonathan said, his voice reassuring, but laced with a hint of doubt.Rhys’ eyes widened, his heart racing with fear. He knew that someth
Rhys’ eyes widened in surprise, and he leaned forward, eager to hear more. “What? That’s not possible. I’m the rightful heir.”“I know,” Jonathan said, nodding. “But Harrison seemed convinced that Atlas was the better choice. And Christopher, your uncle, has been backing him up.”Rhys’ face darkened with anger, and he clenched his fists. “I’ll deal with them,” he growled.Jonathan placed a hand on Rhys’ shoulder. “I know you will, Rhys. But you need to be careful. They’re not going to give up easily.”Rhys nodded, his expression serious. “I know. But I’m not going to let them get away with this. I’m going to fight for what’s rightfully mine.”Jonathan smiled, feeling a sense of pride and admiration for his friend. “I know you will, Rhys. And I’ll be right there beside you.”As they sat there, Jonathan couldn’t help but think about how much Rhys had been through. He had lost his family, his home, and his identity. But he was still standing, still fighting. “Rhys, I’m sorry,” Jonathan s
Rhys chuckled and shook his head. “I’m not a ghost, Jonathan. I’m alive.”But Jonathan refused to believe it. He took a step back, his eyes fixed on Rhys as if he was seeing a specter. “No, no, no,” Jonathan muttered to himself. “This can’t be real. You’re dead. I saw your dead body. Who the hell is trying to mess with me.” Jonathan hurriedly took out a gun from his jacket and pointed it at Rhys. “Who the fuck are you and why do you look like him?” His voice was cold and unfeeling Rhys stood up and took a step forward, his hands outstretched. “Jonathan, listen to me. I’m alive. I know it’s hard to believe, but I’m here. I’m flesh and blood.”Jonathan’s eyes welled up with tears as he looked at Rhys. He wanted to believe him, but his mind was struggling to accept the truth.Rhys took another step forward, his voice gentle and reassuring. “Jonathan, I know this is a lot to take in. But I’m here. I’m alive. And I’m not going anywhere.”A vast array of emotions swirled within Jonathan a
Rhys and Zephyr drifted off to sleep on the boat, the gentle rocking motion and the sound of the waves lulling them into a deep slumber. But as they slept, a warm light enveloped them, and they vanished from the ship. Rhys opened his eyes to find himself in a strange room. He was lying on a comfortable couch, and Zephyr was still asleep beside him. But as he looked around, he realized that they were no longer on the boat. They were in a study room, filled with books and strange artifacts.Rhys sat up, his mind racing with confusion. Where were they? How did they get there? He looked around the room, trying to find some answers. But there was no one there apart from him and Zephyr.“Rio, what’s going on?” Rhys asked, his voice shaking slightly.“I’m the one who teleported you here,” Rio replied, his voice calm and reassuring. “You’re safe, Rhys. You’re in a safe place.”Rhys’ eyes widened in shock. “But how did we get here? And where is here?”“You needed to get back to your family,” R
Zephyr’s face lit up with joy, her eyes shining like stars. “Thank you, Rhys! I won’t let you down, I promise!”Rhys smiled, feeling a sense of trepidation mixed with excitement. What had he just gotten himself into? Only time would tell. As they prepared to leave the island, Rhys couldn’t help but wonder what lay ahead. He pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand.Rhys asked Rio, his mind still connected to his friend’s. “How are we going to leave the island?” he asked, his thoughts transmitted directly to Rio.“Break the barrier,” Rio replied, his voice clear and confident in Rhys’ mind. “It’s the only way off the island.”Rhys looked around, trying to locate the barrier. He saw a shimmering wall of light a few meters away, pulsing with a gentle blue energy. The barrier seemed to hum with power, its surface rippling like water.“That’s it?” Rhys asked, his doubts creeping in. “It looks so fragile.”“It’s not as easy as it looks,” Rio warned. “The barrier is powerful,
As they meditated, Zephyr could feel her connection to the island beginning to weaken since the disappearance of the Starheart. She knew that she would have to find a way leave soon, to return to the human world and create an identity for herself. But for now, she was content to sit beside Rhys, to focus on her own energy, and to help him heal. Zephyr’s thoughts turned to her own journey, to the island that she had been on for as long as she could remember. She really could not fault her parents for abandoning her but she really wished that they had found a better place for her. As she meditated, Zephyr could feel her energy growing stronger, more vibrant. She knew that she would be able to leave the island soon, to return to a new world. Zephyr’s eyes opened, and she looked at Rhys. He was still meditating, his eyes closed, his face peaceful. She smiled, feeling a sense of connection to him, of friendship even though throughout the time that they spent together, he was unconscious.
Rhys had his mind set on breaking the barrier and leaving the island behind. He thought of his family , how worried they were after the had found out about his disappearance. He lets out a huge sigh and rubbed his forehead. “How long was I unconscious?” He inquired from Zephyr “A year and two days.” Zephyr sat down next to him as she responded. What? The response came as a shock to him, he found it hard to believe that he had been unconscious and away from his family for more than a year. This fueled his resolve to break the barrier and return home. Zephyr’s voice broke the silence, her words soft and gentle. “Don’t worry, human. I’ll help you. We’ll figure out a way to break the barrier together.”Rhys’ gaze snapped back to Zephyr, his eyes searching hers. He saw a determination there, a sense of purpose that mirrored his own. “Thank you,” Rhys said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.Zephyr smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. “We’ll do it, Rhys. I promise.”“Rhys.”“Wh
