It was a festival of cacophony. A cortege of clamorous cars was heading back to the HQ. People were sitting on the doors of the cars, even on the roofs and wherever they could hang on them. They were clapping and whistling while shouting some victorious songs, they were not even in rhythm but they didn't care as long as it was joyful.Jamal was still with Volga in the convertible, which she now grew attached to. They were driving ahead of the cortege while enjoying the songs and laughing while Volga was telling him about the previous battles against the outlaws she had experienced far before he came. Jamal noticed that she purposely selected the non-tragic anecdotes where they triumphed over them or only those with hilarious content and just skipped those where people died. She didn't say anything about it, but Jamal knew only through her eyes that she had lost many comrades."Hum... can I ask you something?" she said after a short pause. He noticed that she was a little sheepish, may
The party was already over for a moment and there were still two to three drunk guys who were dancing and singing some happy songs in the hallways while the others were spread in the edifice wondering about what should they do next. Jamal was outside with Volga and Sania the only two people who agreed to follow him on his journey. They were charging their stuff in the cars and prepared to leave soon.Earlier, before the party officially started, he had made his announcement and later gave a reminder around the end of the party. After that was following a festive mood where Jamal was surrounded by many people who were questioning him about his performances and starving to hear some of his adventures, and he couldn't turn them down as they insisted very much while Volga was in her corner hidden from any curious sight flirting with her new lover, they were laughing, touching each other and kissing like a couple of teenagers. At a moment, she suddenly moved her sight away to take a look a
Jamal was heading for MontClay, the second city. In the end, the soldiers he brought with him were only half of the army he had saved in Short-river, however, this result didn't bother him, and on the contrary, he thought it was rather a good number. As it was the city the most in crisis, he didn't expect so many of them to agree to join in. That was why he was not very insistent during his speech."We should be there within 10 minutes," Volga shouted. They were rolling for quite a long while now and the shape of the city started to be perceived forward on the horizon while, on the side, the sun was slowly falling, pushing them slowly but further into the darkness."Would they provide some greeters as we did for you?" she asked while glancing at the sun with worried eyes."I don't think so," he responded. "They had planned that I would take two days to treat your case, therefore they are expecting me to arrive there only tomorrow"."Oh, I see. And do you know where we have to go? Did
Volga was the first one to wake up. She got up from her sleeping bag and looked around her while she was stretching out, seeing that she was the only one up and it was about time to go to the battlefield she decided to play her role of chief and to go wake her men up.[Where is he?] she asked herself. She had walked almost around the whole store, waking up her entire troop until she realized that she didn't see Jamal anywhere. She even made another round thinking that maybe they crossed each other but she just missed him while she was focused on someone else. However, the result was the same and instead of finding him, she met with Sania and Carl at the back of the store. They didn't notice her approaching as they were hurriedly putting some stuff in their bags.[Maybe it's because I've pressed them to quickly prepare themselves] Volga guessed.Anyway, she decided to not pay much attention to it and rather go ask them about Jamal's whereabouts."Hey guys," she called them when she cam
There was a moment of calm where nobody couldn't pronounce a word. Among the group of people, Nelson's men were particularly quiet. They were all immobile, surrounding the stack of bodies while staring at them deeply as if they were admiring a painting. On their side, the other army was completely lost, they didn't know what was going on or why their allies were acting like that after they just won their battle against the outlaws. They didn't stop glancing at each other as if it was the other person who had the answers.Sania who had enough of this situation discreetly stepped back and, still without drawing any attention, walked toward Volga and Jamal who were a little bit farther away from the crowd plotting alone as usual."If I didn't know you, I would think you are dating each other," she firstly said once she arrived near enough to being heard, "your woman should be now more worried about her than me".Jamal, who was still on his motorbike leaning on Volga's car door, had an em
So as promised after they would all finish enjoying the party set for celebrating their victory against the outlaws, Nelson's army would join Short-river's army and Jamal in their journey to Palet, the next city on the list, to lend them a hand in their fight."For all our brothers and sisters lost in the combat! Cheers!" a man shouted while holding high a bottle of cocktail juice, Jamal asked them to avoid alcohol as they had another battle the next day and they had to be fully operational, it had been very difficult to convince them but he managed to negotiate an agreement which was to diminish the bottles of alcohol and to compensate with fruit juices so they risk of being drunk would be less. His comrades followed him and we could see many hands raising glasses of juice while all people were shouting "cheers!".Jamal was staring at them and he couldn't help comparing the fact that it was more noisy and agitated than Short-river since they were more numerous but he also noticed som
The three armies of the three cities were all gathered in the dining hall for the feast their host, Glenn had prepared for them. While straying his sight around him, Jamal realized how big that room was. In one sight, he counted that they were nearly one hundred people and still each of them was well installed on one of the two long tables which were occupying the dining room. Those tables were filled with many varieties of food; mashed potatoes, salads, meat, chicken, and many other meals. There were many fruit juices naturally prepared, and Jamal was happy to notice that he didn't put too much wine or any alcohol as it would have reduced the capacity of the soldiers in the coming battle. While they were enjoying that banquet, Glenn was humbly explaining to Jamal, Volga, Nelson, and Sania, who was sitting near him, where all the foods, which had been prepared and set on the dinner, were coming from. Jamal, like all the others, thought that they were their provisions, which was correc
"Alright, it's settled. Tomorrow we will go for the outlaws and will proceed as we have planned today," Jamal said to conclude the strategic meeting while he already started to fold the map and collect the other materials they used. He walked toward a shelf and stocked them there in order, "however, for the time being, I ask you to go find your beds and have some rest to replenish as much of your energy as you can before we go on this mission. So hurry up and go to sleep".Everyone agreed and the noisy crowd started slowly leaving the room, some of them were discussing the mission, explaining and commenting on some steps of the plan while the others were rather sharing some stories of their previous missions with the members of Palet's group. They were cheering them up as some of them were still very worried.[Which is completely normal. Tomorrow will be their first real battle] Jamal said to himself while he was gazing at the crowd on their way."It also valid for you," he said to th
