Chapter 10 - Whirlwind of Charity

Sinking deeper into the seat, Zane finally settled into the luxurious comfort of his sleek car.

Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and allowed all the exhaustion that had been accumulating throughout the evening to dissipate.

The gravity of the night's occurrences seemed to dissipate as he sat there, taking in the tranquil purr of the engine and the tranquil aura of the dashboard lights. For just a moment, everything was at peace.

“I actually did it,” He whispered to himself, a delighted smile appearing on his face.

He was filled with gratitude as he had managed to put into practice the cultivation teachings he had learned thus far.

Suddenly, the tranquil atmosphere was disrupted by a loud screeching noise as Cedric abruptly slammed on the brakes. His wide eyes were just in time to take in the sight of several menacing black cars encircling them, blocking off their escape route.

"What's going on, Cedric?" Zane inquired, trying to conceal the anxiety that was quickly rising in his voice.

Though he was aware of the hazardous situation they were in, Zane maintained his composure.

"Master, I don't know. It looks like they're trying to stop us," Cedric said, his brow creased in confusion. "Did I do something wrong? Could it be that I hit someone? But...I don't think so."

Zane observed the situation that was unfolding before him, but his face betrayed no sign of worry.

He muttered to himself, "Who are these people?"

The tension outside the car was palpable, and through the tinted windows, Zane could make out a group of menacing figures emerging from several black cars.

They were all wearing identical black clothes and each of them was gripping a golf club.

Cedric said to Zane, "Master, this looks like it's going to be bad. What do you think we should do?"

Despite the fact that Cedric wasn't scared of the group of thugs, he still respected Zane's decisions.

"We're surrounded," Zane said expressionlessly, "and it looks like we don't have any other option but to confront them, right?"

Cedric gave a nod of affirmation, "Yes, Master."

Peering through the tinted windows, Zane narrowed his eyes, trying to discern any details that might give him a clue about their sudden aggressors.

Unfortunately, the darkness outside offered little in the way of answers, with the black cars and their occupants shrouded in mystery.

Unable to make sense of the situation, Zane's mind raced with possibilities.

Could this be a reaction to the events at the charity? Was it someone from one of the participants, or perhaps something unrelated entirely?

A person, appearing to be in charge of the group, boomed in a menacing voice, "Zane Gardner! Show yourself! I'm certain you are in there!"

"Master, let me take on this fight. I'll make sure you're safe," Cedric implored, hoping to safeguard Zane against any potential danger.

But then, the statement of Zane was the complete opposite. Zane, maintaining a composed demeanor, placed a comforting hand on Cedric's shoulder. "Cedric, stay in the car," he said in a composed tone. "I'll take care of this."

"Alright," Cedric replied, nodding and smiling. "Be careful, Master."

Cedric had observed Zane intently training, he realized that this was the moment for him to implement what he had learned.

Zane nodded and smiled confidently, then opened the car door and stepped out, standing confidently before the group.

The thugs observed Zane as the burly leader stepped forward. He had a scar running down his cheek and a sinister smirk on his face.

He chuckled as he spoke, "So, you're Zane Gardner? Seems a bit much to have brought so many of us here for one person! Hahaha."

"Master, it appears that defeating him doesn't require much effort or time; all you did was sit back and watch comfortably," said one of them.

"That's right," the leader replied with a laugh. "I think he's nothing more than a feeble cockroach. Hahaha!"

Zane stood his ground, his gaze firmly locked onto the leader's. "What do you want?" he asked, his tone neither challenging nor submissive, but determined.

The leader smirked, a cold glint in his eyes. "We have a message for you," he began. "Stay away from the Scotts. Or your life will be in danger."

Zane, understanding the nature of the confrontation, kept his composure.

"Why are you suddenly ordering me to do that?" he replied calmly. "And why should I take orders from someone I don't even know? Who is the person behind this?"

The group leader sharpened his eyes after hearing Zane's answer. "It doesn't matter to you who our Master is," he said sternly. “Clearly, you have made the wrong decision, and you will soon regret it!”

The thugs tightened their grip on their golf clubs and raised them up, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Zane.

Despite the fact that Zane had never been involved in a fight before, let alone against so many opponents, he remained composed and confident.

The leader thug bellowed with great intensity, "All of you! Attack him with no mercy! Strike him until he is no more!"

They shouted in unison and quickly marched towards Zane.

He muttered to himself, "Good, this is a great chance for me to demonstrate all the knowledge I have gained up until now."

He had no other option but to take them on in battle. It was his first experience of facing off against a large group of people, yet he remained composed and fearless.

As Zane faced off against numerous opponents, one of them suddenly took out a glinting blade from his pocket. He rushed towards Zane with the weapon in hand.
