CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-ONE

Franklin sat alone at his desk, staring at the stack of papers in front of him. The files from his new startup company were all over the place. The numbers didn’t make sense to him anymore. His head hurt, his heart felt heavy, and the room seemed quieter than usual. He rubbed his temples and leaned back in his chair, feeling lost.

He picked up his phone and stared at it for a while. After hesitating, he scrolled to Mr. Hughes’ name and tapped it.

The phone rang twice before Mr. Hughes answered, “Franklin, how are you doing?”

Franklin paused, unsure of how to respond. “Honestly, not great. I feel like
 I feel like I’m drowning in all of this.”

“What’s going on?” Mr. Hughes asked, his voice calm but concerned.

Franklin sighed deeply. “This new company
 I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing. The numbers are all over the place. I don’t even know if this will work out.”

“You’re trying to rebuild after everything that’s happened. That’s a lot for anyone to handle,” Mr. Hughes said.
