The butler had made a phone call to the company and requested assistance after receiving a call from Franklin. He was clearly frightened of Franklin's demeanor.

Aware of Franklin's intense anger, the butler felt that he needed to find a way for Franklin to release it. Having been with Franklin since his childhood, the butler knew a great deal about him.
