Derrick's eyes widened in surprise as his ex-wife's family, the Winters, walked into his office. They looked nervous and uncertain, their eyes cast downward in a gesture of humility.

"Derrick, we need to talk to you about something," Anna's mother, Mrs. Winters, began, her voice trembling. "We know we haven't always treated you with the respect and kindness you deserved, especially during the divorce."

Derrick's expression remained neutral, his mind racing with memories of the past. "What do you want to say?" he asked, his voice calm and measured.

Mr. Winters, Anna's father, stepped forward, his eyes filled with remorse. "We were blind to your worth, Derrick. We let our own biases and fears guide our actions, and for that, we are truly sorry."

Anna's sister, Emily, spoke up, her voice filled with emotion. "We realize now that we were wrong to doubt you, to question your love and commitment to Anna. You were a good husband, and we should have supported you, not torn you down."
