Chapter 33

Derrick thanked Ruby's dad for his time and walked out of the house, his head spinning. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't leave Ruby, but he also couldn't risk making an enemy out of her father. He felt trapped, and he didn't know how to get out of this situation. As he walked down the street, he tried to think of a way to fix this, but his mind was blank. He had never felt so lost and alone.

Derrick let himself into his house, his mind still racing. He knew that he should probably tell Ruby what had happened, but he didn't know if he could. He didn't want to worry her, but he also didn't want to keep this from her. He was so torn, and he didn't know what to do.

He paced around his living room, trying to think of the best course of action. He needed to talk to someone, but he didn't know who to call.

Derrick finally told Ruby about it.

When Ruby heard what her father had said, she was furious. She couldn't believe that he would threaten Derrick like that. She was so proud of him
