Chapter 59

Derrick was discharged, he strode his wheelchair out of the hospital, his mind full of thoughts and uncertainty.

What was he going to do now? Where was he going to go? He had no friends, no family, no home. He couldn't get a job in his current state and worst of all, he couldn't use his legs again.

'Just great'. He thought as he continued riding his wheelchair to the walkway and out of the hospital.

He had always questioned his existence, why the universe kept him alive and let him go through unfortunate situations.

He let out a sigh and strode towards the hospital's junction, people's eyes towered over him but he didn't budge, "I'm sure seeing a young man alone moving around in his wheelchair is something people don't get to see much, I guess I'm just so unlucky." He said aloud sarcastically.

Derrick passed a few streets and stopped in front of a big building where bright lights gleamed brightly with the writing "De-Royal Hotel" on a large billboard close to the building.
