Duke isn't panicking, there is a small chance that the boy would recognize him and it's not that he is scared, but what if?

He is still fighting those thoughts in his head when Max is being led outside.

He is as calm as he was that night when he met him in the house and he is putting on a cardigan that seems to be too big for him. His mother would have done a better job if she was here.

He stops in front of Melody who bents down with a kind smile on her face.

When they pull apart she quickly wipes the tears from her eyes and returns her smile to its place.

He nods, maybe all of these have made him lose his voice, that's why he can't answer her.
