Nathan had been home quite early that day, a little past six. He texted Doris on his way home that he had a surprise for her. Then, branched at a supermarket to get some food ingredients. He would be preparing spaghetti and meatballs, along with some other interesting side dishes.

Doris glared intensely at the ingredients on the kitchen table, then returned her gaze to her husband's grinning face.

"Seriously? sautéed green beans, cucumber and vinegar salad, and oven garlic bread?" She asked with a slight frown on her face.

Nathan chucked. "Don't forget the chocolate molten cake for dessert. It's gonna be awesome."

"Nathan, that's all too much. Besides, when was the last you made... Any of these?"
