For the first time in weeks, Isla made her way over to Nathan again, and she couldn't even explain how exactly she was feeling. For one reason, she was angry. Very frustrated that he was still married to his goddamn wife! She loved him and would always do. And yet, not even for once had he reciprocated her feelings. Heaving in a deep sigh, she advanced forward to make a knock on the door. "Don't worry, Isla. Breath it in," and with that, she made a knock on the door. It hadn't been a loud bang, rather barely more than a slight knock, but almost immediately, the door had flung wide open. "Oh God, you're back..." He was standing before her, staring like he had been day dreaming, probably wondering what the fuck she had been doing at his footstep. "Oh I thought you were someone else," he said so apologetically. That frustrated her even more. He had probably been excited thinking that she was his dear wife! She had better not show her true emotions to avoid failing on the first day of h
"Are you insane? You want me to help you keep a close eye on someone? Have I really turned into this? I am supposed to be your lover, Manuel. I should be--""I understand. I get you," Manuel said to her. Trevor was beside him but said nothing."Then what are you saying then, huh?""I just need you to assist me, that's all. I understand about your financial situation, and I proudly want to help. If you would help me."Evelyn had never been that enraged before. He would certainly threaten her, despite knowing of her financial background. Every body kept saying that they knew of her financial background. Was that enough reason for them not to respect her? "Manuel, this is not right. I won't help you spy on someone. I mean, what for anyway?" Manuel glared at her with caution eyes. "Well I can't tell you yet, my love." "Oh, so I'm your love now?" Flared Evelyn. She rose to to her feet, and Manuel probably wondered why. He said nothing and acted cool at the time. "I don't understand anyth
Evelyn was with her other queens, and they had nearly ended their meeting. She listened carefully to Regina's silly talks about how she was powerful and well respected. She purposely pointed fingers at Evelyn, stating that she had been less important just because she was going through some rough times. Evelyn was silent all through the time because she didn't even bother to pay attention to their silly talks. All she could focus her kind was on her family. She realized that her family had been falling apart slowly. He husband had been acting strangely towards her for reasons she couldn't even explain. But then, she hoped it had been for a great cause. She couldn't even put her mind on that for long. Then there was the issue with her daughter and then with her enemies, Fernando and Manuel. Doris wasn't safe at all. And she felt like a terrible mother for not being able to do anything about that. There was always something to do. She would gain power no matter the cost. What she neede
Masking fear was a survival essential where Lidia was from. So much so that she didn't feel fear as others apparently did. She processed it differently, routed it through her prefrontal cortex instead of letting the more primitive brain do the choice-making. Some things we are born with, others are epigenetic alterations, adjustments she guess. So she could be damaged by fear. It could cause her harm to her brain and body the same as others. The difference was that, it shut them down, making her more alert, more adept and creative problem solving. Fear of abandonment became her core belief because of events outside of her control when she was just a child. There were ways to fix and counter that, ways to teach one how to have healthy anxiety-free relationships. One could have great core values. One could believe in good things and have a hero heart. She was worried sick for her daughter, waiting for her to return after hours of disappearing. As the daylight dwindled the tension in S
Regina was a strong woman, and so her brains and discoveries have been ignored and underestimated, undervalued and patronized... yet, alas, not with financial support. So she used that to her advantage. She have had a great positive effect without attention, the same way as housework or cooking does. You keep on "feeding" people, they eat and leave, some thank you and some don't. They will take from you in ways they'd never take from a man of social standing and academic worth. It still sucks though. It would be nice to be respected for what she brought, for what she had figured out and the good effects it had had. She was a passionate woman and was very different from her daughter, Mitchell , who had always lived a life filled with joy and happiness. As a girl, Mitchell loved pretty ribbons and climbing trees. She loved science and poetry. And as well loved having long hair and wearing party dresses. She ran cross-country, competing hard, often being asked to run with the boys bec
Evelyn began. "We both see delicate spring blooms. I see life as so robust that the flowers come back season after season, Igor sees them as transitory - soon to be trampled under foot. We both feel the sunlight growing stronger. I feel warmth and look forward to the harvest, Igor shrinks inside and worries about burns and insect bites. We both know the goodness in our community. I know we can push forwards and grow in an enlightened way, Igor "knows" that the people from other religions will come to spoil it and take over, ruining our progress. But Igor confuses knowledge with fear."Doris had been patient enough that her ears began to hurt." Igor? Mother who the fuck is Igor?" She queried and Evelyn ignored and kept on talking. "There are so many problems in the world, I'm not blind to it, my eyes are open too. But I don't see big religion, people as part of "herds" or "gangs," I see billions of broken hearts reaching out to know they are loved by the Divine, and they are. All of t
Trevor made his way over to Manuel that night. He made sure he had heard from the old man that Evelyn had left already before he visited, since he and Evelyn weren't all best friends. "So?" Manuel asked the younger man seated before him. "What did you find out?" Trevor's hands raked through his hair as he tried to find the right words to use. He actually didn't fully trust Isla, yet at least. He needed time to fully know whether she was on their team or not. "Well?" Asked the older man again, and this brought a frown on his face. "I'm afraid you might be right actually." Confessed Trevor. Manuel's brows arched upwards. "What is that supposed to mean?" "I do not think that we can fully trust this young lady actually." He said, then began to further his point. "There is someone who has given her the same job before, but actually it had been a little bit different." "Different? How?" Asked the older man. "She was asked to seduce Nathan Anakin. And she failed because she ended up
Our fears can be triggered by real threats and by memories of threats. Humans find it challenging to unlearn fears. Thus when we realise that we are scared we must ask ourselves how real the threat is or if we have begun to generalise fear and seek evidence to cement it rather than challenge it. To remain well balanced and with good perspective we must always remain willing to ask ourselves these difficult questions, hone into our true emotions and see people as they really are. The prize for doing all this right is a well functioning society, the punishment for getting it wrong is run-away-paranoia. The former makes friendships, the latter makes enemies whom could have been friends. That said, if after analysis you find the threat to have real force and impact, take action to protect yourself, to protect those you love and call in allies to provide support. In summary, fears can be real, ghosts of real fears, or entirely imagined. It takes courage to figure out your own fears, to f
