SUDDEN RISE TO POWER

After laying eyes on his birth certificate and a handful of other official documents that confirmed his identity, Alexander was left in a state of utter shock.

He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Was it really possible that he was who these papers said he was? Turning to Jameson, the butler of the Greece family, he posed the question that was on his mind: "Is it really true? Am I really...?"

Jameson replied with a solemn nod, as if he understood the gravity of the situation better than anyone.

Alexander was filled with a jumble of different emotions, unable to process them all at once.

One moment, he had been living a life of poverty, feeling like there was no hope left and was about to end it all, in the next he was being told that he was the heir to one of the most powerful families in the entire country.

It was difficult to put into words just how much this revelation had upended Alexander's life.

The implications were staggering. He was overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility that came with his newfound status, and uncertain about how he was supposed to navigate the complicated world of high society.

At the same time, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement at the possibilities that lay ahead. His life had taken an unexpected turn, and he had been given a second chance to make something of himself.

Jameson pushed a few documents towards Alexander for his signature, Alexander's mind raced with anticipation. He had graduated from university with excellent grades, and as such, was more than capable of comprehending the contents of the documents he was about to sign.

As he read through them, he realized they were shares in several companies and stocks held by the Greece family, and his heart skipped a beat at the realization.

Despite his excitement, Alexander tried to remain composed as he signed the documents.

After all, he was about to become the owner of a significant portion of some of the world's most successful businesses. As soon as he finished signing, Jameson presented him with a sleek black card.

At first glance, the card appeared to be nothing out of the ordinary. However, as Jameson explained, it was far from it.

"There is twenty billion dollars on this card," Jameson said, his voice filled with authority.

"You can spend it as you want. But you should also know that this card isn't just about the money; it solidifies your status as well. Even with enough money, some people can never get this card."

Alexander's eyes widened in shock as Jameson spoke. Twenty billion dollars was an incredible amount of money, enough to make even the wealthiest of individuals envious.

But the significance of the card went far beyond its monetary value. It was a symbol of status, power, and influence. A ticket to the highest echelons of society.

As Jameson handed him the card, Alexander's hands trembled with excitement.

The black card looked so ordinary that one wouldn't even believe it was really a bank card, yet it held the power to change his life forever.

He felt both stunned and exhilarated as he held the card in his hands. This was a turning point in his life, and he couldn't wait to see where it would take him but at the moment, he was more anxious to confirm the balance of the card.

Jameson, who sat across from Alexander, could sense his anxiousness to confirm the amount on the card, despite his attempt to conceal it. Nevertheless, Jameson remained calm as he retrieved a paper from a jotter in his front pocket and jotted down a phone number.

Handing the paper to Alexander, Jameson spoke, "Here's Arthur White's number, CEO of the White's Group. I'm certain you have heard about him. He'll be your personal assistant, available whenever you need assistance. An email containing an overview of your responsibilities as the heir to the Greece family has been sent to you. Take a look at it when you have the chance."

While Jameson spoke, Alexander had already taken out his phone and intended to check his email. However, his phone seemed to be malfunctioning.

Jameson chuckled as he rose from his seat, saying, "You're wealthy now. You should consider investing in a better phone."

Alexander let out a chuckle, though he couldn't help feeling a twinge of embarrassment.

He was practically bubbling over with joy - not only had he struck it rich, but he now had the wealthiest man in all of Fairview as his assistant. And if that wasn't enough, he had also learned that he was the heir to the powerful Greece family from the capital. It was almost too good to be true.

As he made his way towards the waiting car, Alexander asked Jameson if they could make a quick detour to the bridge. He needed to retrieve the scooter that belonged to the delivery company he used to work for - it wouldn't do to just leave it there, after all.

Even though he was now wealthy beyond his wildest dreams, Alexander's mother had instilled in him a strong sense of responsibility and a good attitude.

He knew he had to do the right thing and at least return the scooter and resign properly. It was the kind of detail that most people who suddenly found themselves flush with cash would overlook or dismiss as irrelevant, but Alexander wasn't one of them. He knew that true wealth came from a good heart and a strong sense of ethics.

After grabbing the scooter, he and Jameson separately as he rode towards the hospital his mother was. He parked the scooter outside the hospital, and went in.

The first thing he needed to do was to pay the bills so she could get a better treatment.

Reaching her ward, he discovered it was empty, he had a crazy thought, "Could it be that they recognised him as the heir and took away his mother."
