THE PURCHASE

This wasn't the first time Alexander had heard about his extended stay in his mother's womb for 15 months. In fact, people had once regarded him as a cursed child, believing that such an extraordinary duration of pregnancy was a sign of something sinister. The nurses who were aware of this peculiar circumstance even taunted him, comparing him to a demon from hell. Not many people knew about it though, however, this time, someone had described it as a blessing and recognized his uniqueness.

The old man chuckled and said, "There's no need for you to delve deeper into this matter at the moment. It would only serve as a distraction. Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, you're likely to face misfortune, and I'm here to assist you."

As he spoke, the old man reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper. Within the paper was a black pill, which emitted an unpleasant odor.

Both Isabel and Alexander wrinkled their noses in response.
