Adera had to go to the doctor's appointment alone. Zade was still recovering and the last thing she wanted to do was disturb him. He needed to heal as fast as he could in other to guide his inheritance.

"Miss Adera, I'm going to ask one last time. Are you sure you want to proceed with this abortion? Last time, I asked you to give it a thought. What is your decision?" The doctor asked.

"I already made it clear that I wouldn't be changing my mind even if you have me wait the whole month. Can we just get this over with doc?" Adera asked.

"Alright then. As you wish."

As they approached the ward, Adera became nervous about the whole process. Several negative thoughts flew through her mind. The possibility of losing her womb and even dying made her pause occasionally for deep breaths.

"Everything okay, Miss Anderson? Are you getting cold feet?" The doctor asked and she nodded.

"Don't worry, it won't take much of your time. We'll be done before you know it. So the pregnancy is only a week

"I see you're doing well.""Thanks for your concern, Grandpa," Zade responded with a hint of sarcasm. Zachary gestured at him to sit down. The man sent for Zade as soon as he heard that he was discharged from the hospital. Adera had been adamant about letting him and insisted his grandfather come to see him, but Zade knew better. "I know your cousin has not been the easiest person to get along with…""What gave it away?" Zade muttered, but the man heard him. Instead of commenting, Zachary went ahead with what he was saying."I want you to stay off his path. We both know he is a reckless idiot and that makes him more dangerous to you. Whatever payback plans you're brewing, I want you to dissolve them. Forget about this incident and move on," Zachary instructed. If it had been someone else, he would have walked away but this was the one man he feared more than death. He couldn't disrespect him like that."And if this incident repeats? what should I do then?" "Are you going to do as he said?" Adera asked after listening to his detailed narration of his meeting with his grandfather. Zade was happy ate was a lot calmer now. He didn't admit it, but sometimes her aggressive reaction to things scared him. She had crazy anger issues and he didn't know the length it could push her to.All she did in the last few displays were just mere yellings."I will. I already gave him my word that I wouldn't attack until he launched a second attack. Is that okay by you?" He asked her. She smiled at him which was a little surprising because she had alarming mood swings. One minute, she was chill and all, the next minute, she was pissed at everyone and everything. He often wondered if it was just the pregnancy hormones kicking in. "That's okay. As long as he doesn't try to hurt you anymore, we can let it slide. Do you think your grandfather will give him a warning?""Most likely. He arranged a meeting with both of us although separately. My grandfather see

Roselia stood up with a bright smile."Zade! You're really here. They were right about you after all. You do stay here," her excitement was met with cold indifference. "What are you doing here?" Zade asked. Adera got to the stairs, expecting to see them in a tight embrace or chatting like old friends at least, but instead, she met a stare-down contest. "I came to say hi. I was in town with Flynn so I thought I should stop by. You don't seem too happy to see me," Roselia chuckled. "Who the fuck is Flynn and what does he have to do with your visit?" Zade scoffed. "Oh, he's my boyfriend. Flynn Skater, the famous architect, you should know him right?" Roselia explained with an air of pride.Zade shot up a brow, "So?""So I heard from a couple of people that you were in town," she approached him and hugged him. "I see you bagged another millionaire, now they think you're some billionaire son. Zade Delamonte? What a joke!" When Adera saw his fists clench, she knew something was wrong.

"Why did you want us to meet?" Adera asked with zero interest in her voice. "I believe we started on the wrong footing. I was hoping we could patch things up between us and probably help each other." Roselia told her. Adera gave her a placid look. "Who said I'm interested in whatever you have to offer? Look, I appreciate your effort to amend your mistakes, but I hold nothing against you. I'm just not interested in being friends with you."Roselia smiled at Adera's words. "You're only saying that because you don't know what I have to offer. Listen, there are a lot of things you could benefit from this alliance. Don't be stubborn, sweetheart," she persisted. "I understand you feel that your boyfriend is rich enough to provide all you want but there are some lines that shouldn't be crossed. I believe we have come to the close of this meeting. When Tyrone barged into Zade's mansion the second time, Adera was playing video games with Zade. "Am I interrupting something?" Tyrone asked although he knew the obvious answer to the question. "How did you get past the guards?" Adera asked without bothering to hide her annoyance. Tyrone proceeded in and relaxed on the sofa."You play video games?" He asked Adera but her gaze remained the same. Zade got off the floor, dropping his controller on her lap."I heard you paid a visit while I was away. I hope it was just because you wanted to l LoL have lunch," he said, taking a seat next to him.Tyrone glanced at Adera then smiled, "Of course, it was just lunch.""So what do I owe this visit?" Zade asked indifferently."We had a business deal with some Russians. They're ready to pay two hundred million dollars for a truck of weapons," Tyrone informed him."Ummm… okay. How does any of that concern me? I'm not an arms dealer so what am I supposed to do with this information?" Zade asked."

As agreed, Zade went with Tyrone to deliver the goods. He made sure to stay on guard in case Tyrone made any funny moves. From the onset, he’d known he was walking into a trap but he didn’t know for sure what kind of trap. He’d even taken Tyrone’s advice and got a vest, just in case a gunfight broke out or his stupid cousin turned on him. “Hold these,” Tyrone handed a briefcase to Zade. the latter was reluctant to take it because he didn’t know the contents of the case. “You don’t have to worry. They are just diamonds,” Tyrone chuckled, amused at the man’s mistrust. “I would like to see the diamonds. If I’m going to hold it, that is. Besides, you have a lot of guards around, a ridiculous number of them if I must add so if you want anyone to safely keep your diamonds, you can ask them,” Zade stated. Tyrone rolled his eyes and put the suitcase in Zade’s hand. “: These are original diamonds. It’s not part of the business deal we had but I’m hoping to convince them to purchase a f

Zade didn’t know what to do about the current situation. A lot of things had gone south and he had a feeling it wasn’t even the end of it. His cousin had started an unnecessary fight and Andreas wasn’t ready to back down. Taking a peek from behind the car where he hid, he realized Tyrone actually had an edge over the Russians. He contemplated going over to his cousin’s side or remaining in his hiding spot. With careful consideration of both choices, he decided to stay put. Tyrone was obviously going to turn on him the moment Andreas was out of the way. It was better to find a way to cleave the scene completely instead of waiting for his psycho cousin to end him himself. Just as he raised his head, a bullet flew above his head by a few inches. He quickly dropped to the floor, his heart pounding heavily against his chest in an adrenaline rush. At the second peek, he realized that the tables had turned in a really nasty way. More cars were arriving and sadly none of them were Tyrone’

"You might feel very powerful at the moment because you have two Delamontes in chains and you're eager to see them tear down each other, but remember we are not the only Delamontes. If any of us dies, I'd advise you to send your wealth to an orphanage because nothing from your empire to your lineage will be left. If Zion is not who he pretends to be, then we need to purge him out of your company before he ruins you,” Elsa said frankly.“But why would he?” Elizabeth threw her hands in her hair, confused and frustrated. “I offered him a job as my PA with a heavy paycheck and mouthwatering allowances to enable him to better the lives of his grandmother and son. I got him a fucking luxury apartment. Why would he repay me by sabotaging my company?”“You've said all the good things

“Who do you work for?” The question was accompanied by a punch to the man's guts. He let out a groan but that seemed to be all he was going to do. Groan and groan until they got tired of hitting him.“I asked a question! Who is your boss?” He barely acknowledged the question, focusing on the wounds on his body. He had been stalking Elizabeth as usual when three cars entrapped him and he ended up here. The men had been torturing him for three days straight but all attempts to get him to speak were futile. The highest he did was scream and curse at them.“Tie him on the electric chair,” came an order. The man wasn't even panicked by it. They weren't going to oil him because they needed answers so nothing they did scared him. After tying him to the chair. They bathe him with water. His heart heart accelerated a little. Elizabeth arrived at the office looking tacky which was so unlike her. Zion followed her into her office curiously. She'd never been an hour to work before and definitely not looking the way she did now. The eye bags were evident and her lips were chapped coupled with the rough ponytail she had on. She looked sick.“Good morning, ma'am," Zion greeted but she gave a mere nod in response. “Uhm… is everytime alright? You don't look fine. Yesterday, you left the office suddenly and today you look like a mess,” he observed. Elizabeth glanced at him before scampering through the files on her desk. “Ma'am, I know you might not feel the need to talk to me after my behavior yesterday and I apologize. I just had a lot going on so I might have taken out some of the frustration on you," he said lowly.“What makes you think this is about you? Look, Zion, you are just an intern here and I advice you focus on what you're here for. Don't bother yourself about me, I'll be fine," she said coldly.

Her heart picked up as she noticed this strange car taking every turn she took. Once she arrived home, the car sped past but Elizabeth knew it wasn't completely gone. Hurrying to her father's room since her room was bugged, she took a look out the window. Just as she thought, it was packed at the other side of the road, directly facing her house. Elizabeth tried to make out the figure in the car but she couldn't tell who the driver if the driver was male or female because the glasses were tinted. With this person monitoring her, it was unsafe for her to stay home. Who knew how many cameras they planted in there. Shooting her father a quick text, she exited the house with two bodyguards. Her next destination was her grandfather's house. If she went to one of her penthouses or another mansion or even called someone to check the bugs in her room, it was very possible they could use it as an opening to plant more. He was not enjoying the conversation.“I couldn't hear you because I am deaf,” he gritted. “Why are you being so cranky today?
