CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE

The atmosphere was stiff, the air, tense. Sweat dripped down Adam’s face, the creaking fan had stopped moving, but Adam knew the sweat wasn't as a result of the heat, but the turmoil and fear that currently had his heart squeezed, making his internal system boil over.

Keeping his gaze on Jerry, he impatiently awaited his response.

“Please Jerry, tell me what you know, or the reason you're saying that”

Jerry got to his feet and clasped Adam on the shoulders, his tone serious as he responded

“I may be wrong, but my mind hasn't been at rest where my Ariel is concerned. That bastard Bates seems like a fellow who would go through any length to get what he wants, and Cecilia my useless ex-wife is extremely ambitious to not do that man’s bidding so far it will profit her” he had a faraway look on, as he went on
