Williams's hands trembled as he glared at the newspaper reading the headlines. A few days after the event, Adam sat in his office, on the topmost floor of Raine’s conglomerate head office, the office was made of glass, and Adam could view the city from his office, he had a personal balcony of his own, even a small lounge he could use to entertain visitors, as well as a room, kitchenette and a full-on bathroom and toilet with a small walk-in closet. His desk was strewn with papers and files that needed attending to, since his takeover, he had been swamped with work and was thankful for the way his office was built, he had a feeling he would be staying back at the office for a while if he was going to meet up; he had a lot of companies under him that he had to oversee and all, so work was going to be much for him. Anderson let out a long sigh before he responded, “The investigation has been tough, but I've begun to make headway” Adam and Adrien immediately sat up, concentrating on what Adrien had to say “As you may know, Williams Bates is currently having a terrible financial crisis and has been for a while now, taking loans to fund his lifestyle. He must have made a terrible deal that cost him that much loss…” Adam was beginning to grow impatient, he knew Williams was bankrupt and didn't care to know those details, what he needed to know was whatever progress Anderson must have made in finding Ariel. “Sincerely Anderson, I'm in no mood to find out about the bankruptcy of Bates, all I care to know is your progress on my daughter's case!” he exchanged looks with Adrien as he spoke. Heaving with rage and desperation, Adam’s body trembled all over after he had brought everything on his table crashing, tumbling and flying down. He couldn't wrap the thought around his head, how could someone be willing to sell an innocent child of about three years, sell that child to what benefit and to what gain? “What do you mean?” Adrien finally found his voice and spoke up “Exactly what you heard, I'm going to give Bates an offer he can't refuse for his company, and I’ll be using someone else to make the offer. Bates wouldn't trace it to me, I'm not even a thought that would cross his mind in that regard, and that is to my advantage.” Adam sneered and winked at his friend, crossing his arms, Adrien nodded his head before leaning forward to ask, “That’s true though. Who might that be? Raul?” Adam gave a loud snort and chuckled “Raul hates the sight of that fool, in as much as it might please him to destroy Bates, he's not the one. I'm using someone I had a one-time encounter with but never forgot, from my investigations I believe the fellow has a history with Bates and would be more than willing to help out” “I hear you, but one thing comes to mind. If you do buy the company, you might end up enriching Bates’ pocket and that isn't what we want, or what do you intend to do about that?”

Logan’s car was bad, and with no money to fix it and Williams’ blunt refusal to help, he had no choice but to resort to public means of transportation. He had been at the bus stop awaiting his bus when he sighted Adam. Adam wasn't dressed in a tattered manner or shabbily and it had Logan a little confused. They had been unable to discover the bastard’s new location, it was surprising when they got word from someone they had sent to threaten Adam’s family that the house was empty, they still had no clue where he could be found. Frowning, the man narrowed his eyes at him before he responded in a challenging tone, “Orders from above, or do you have anything to do about it?” With his hands still placed in his pocket, Adam shook his head, and shrugged once again, “I would like to speak with the person in charge. I do not have the time for this” The man sneered once more, tipping his head back, he answered with a bark of laughter, “The orders came from the person in charge, how about that?” Adam’s mouth twitched at the side, it was a pity the fool standing before him didn't know who he was, and was just overly carrying out the instructions given to him; if he wanted to, he could have the guy stripped of his job and buy the company leaving both him and his supposed person in charge jobless.
