"You think you're so smart, don't you, Adam? But you have no idea what you're up against."

Adam, unphased, rolled his eyes, a gesture of disdain that seemed to infuriate Stefan further.

"On the contrary," Adam responded smoothly, "I believe I have a pretty good idea. You're a man driven by ambition and greed, blinded by your desire for power. It's pathetic, really."

Stefan's anger now turned into fury, turned sharply to his group, his gaze burning with unspoken commands.

"Teach him a lesson," he hissed, his voice laced with venom.

"A lesson he'll never forget."

The men, emboldened by their leader's command, shifted uneasily, finding courage in their numbers.

"After all, what's one against so many?" one of them sneered, the group's collective confidence swelling.

Adam, observing their movements with detached amusement, simply shook his head, an insolent smile playing on his lips.

"Really now? Is this your grand plan?" he taunted his calm demeanour in stark contrast to their escala
