CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED & NINETY

At Joan's departure, Leila looked over at Adam, she could see the stress all over his face and couldn't help wondering what he had been up to. She felt sad that his ex-wife and her mother didn't want him to have peace, and knew they probably would be back,

“Are you okay?” She asked him and went in for a hug,

“Yeah,” he answered, before giving her a small smile,

“Are you okay?” He asked her, placing his hands on her hair.

“I am.” She said and hugged him even tighter.

She felt safe being in his hands and didn’t want to let go.

“We need to be careful.” Adam began.

“They’re after you now, they will keep trying to kill you just to get to me.” He said.

“You need to be very careful and cautious.” He added,

“I would handle them before they do anything crazy.”

He assured with a smirk on his face, his mind churning with a perfectly crafted plan.
