CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE

Adam arched an eyebrow at Mr Durmont, while the latter searched Adam's face for any sign of fear, after all, he had dared to challenge a pauper who was out claiming what he clearly wasn't,

Unlike Mr Durmont, Adam was unfazed by his dare, he had nothing to prove to the man, but if push came to shove, then he'd gladly oblige the man and put him in his place while at it. Shaking his head, he focused his gaze intently on the man, with his eyebrows still arched as he replied with a voice that was on the edge,

“Are you sure you want to challenge me?! Are you up for whatever comes with it?”

He was giving the man a way out, but the proud man saw it as Adam's way of covering out and so he burst out in loud laughter that boded on mockery, and as he laughed, the other patrons hesitantly joined in, as their eyes kept darting between Adam and Mr Durmont. Propelled by their laughter, the man sneered and equally raised his brows at Adam,
