“W-here's where's m-my Angel?” As Jason opened his eyes, he looked around, dazed. The eyes felt too heavy to be opened, but he refused to close them. As his eyes rested on the strange man, he blinked rapidly, "W-who are y-you?” he questioned while staring intently at the man, "For now, that's not important. You'll get to know me in time, but right now, we need to leave this shack! Your life is in danger!” The strange man muttered, his eyes darting between the shack and the door. Hearing the urgency in the man's voice, chills crept down Jason's frail body, and he gulped, returning his gaze to the man, he blinked once more, "W-what do you m-mean? I'm safe here, nobody will ever think to f-find me in a shack” The strange man scoffed, and shook his head, “Boy, if only you knew”, was his curt response, and as Jason watched him, he struggled to sit up against the bare and flat mattress that lay on the floor. The more Jason stared around his surroundings, the more tears welled up in his throat and eyes, he couldn't tell for how long he had been in this godforsaken place, but after His Angel had found him, she had brought him here for him to heal. He shook his head to rid himself of the memories that were coming in torrents, the impact of the car hitting the car he had occupied, his head hitting the window, and the fire that engulfed the car, and a part of his body. As Jason remembered, his entire body was filled with sweat and he began to tremble, his eyes turning within, “Hey, boy! Hey! Don't you die on me now! Now isn't the time, boy!" a voice cried out, but it sounded too far away; Jason could hardly reach the voice. “Come on! Come on! Boy!!!!!" Jason could feel his chest heavily rising and falling, cold seeping through his body, and at the same time, his entire body felt hot and weak. In his weak state, he could see a bright light, and His Angel was walking through that light, he smiled and stretched out his arms, he wanted to be with her, “Wait for me, My Angel, I wanna come too," he called out weakly, his frail arms still stretched out. His Angel gave him a weak smile and shook her head before disappearing down the light. “Nooooooo" Jason shrieked and began sobbing in his state, his eyes once again opening slightly to see the strange man hovering over him. The man tipped his head forward, and held a bowl to his lips, “Drink this. We don't have much time" Jason lifted his eyes to look at him, his lips pressed together firmly, and the man sighed, using his free hand to run it through his hair, “Boy, you better drink. Hurry!” the man urged. Grimacing, Jason shuddered and drank the concoction, “That's good, that should help us till we get to the city. How do you feel?" the strange man asked, focusing his gaze on Jason, and Jason smiled. For the first time in a long time, he felt better; the pains from the burns all didn't hurt as much, and he nodded gratefully at the man, but before he could open his mouth to respond, the door barged open from the outside and his eyes lit up; His Angel was here. Just as his eyes turned to the door to welcome her, he was taken aback and his eyes bulged out of their sockets, his pale body going paler, “Well, well, well. Looky here my guys. What do we have here?” A man dressed in grey with a bandana over his head smirked, rubbing his palms together as he looked between Jason and the strange man. Jason gulped as he watched the man approach, his eyes widening the more, The man had come with an army of men, they were over fifty, and they were all harmed. As the reality of their situation dawned on him, Jason began to shiver. He cast a glance at the strange man and was a little surprised to see the man look indifferent, raising his brow at the approaching men. “If I were you, I'd think about taking a step further”, the strange man warned with a blank look on his face, and the grey-clothed man, alongside his companions, burst into loud laughs. "Look around you, my man. You're clearly outnumbered, and we will finish you off in less than a minute. You wouldn't like to put that theory to the test now, would you?” The man asked, stretching both arms wide as he looked at the old man straight in the eyes, In return, the old man scoffed and shook his head. He suddenly pulled himself to his full height, his eyes never leaving that of the intimidating man or his other men, “You see, I'm not so fond of repeating myself, I hate that. But for the sake of the lad, I'll do just that. I ask you to leave this place intact, once and for all” Once again, all of the men burst into loud laughter, pointing at the strange man, and exchanging incredulous looks amongst themselves. Their leader cleared his throat and spoke in a loud and clear voice, “For one who's outnumbered, you seem too confident. We have no business with you, as it's the child we want, but since you've decided to meddle in business that doesn't concern you, I'll show you what it means to mind one's business” His eyes not leaving the strange man, he raised his palm and then waved his open palm forward. Immediately about twenty men rushed forward to attack, The strange man stood with a smirk and watched as they approached; just as the first three approached with a rush, he sent them flying, and they landed hard on the floor, the sound of bones cracking ringing clear. The rest were slightly taken aback and so filled with rage and revenge that they attacked at once; the old man wasted no time in his counterattack; brandishing his arms as weapons, he kicked at different shins, incapacitating a number of them as they fell to the ground. In no time, the first set was writhing on the ground. The remaining ones didn't wait for a command, as they all rushed at him. Cries and howls filled the air, but they weren't from the strange man who stood without a scratch while pale and writhing bodies surrounded his feet. The leader looked down at the bodies of his lifeless and writhing men, and slowly lifted his head to gape at the strange man, his body turning ashen. It was evident that he stood no chance with the man, his eyes travelled to the boy he had come for and he clenched his fist before he waved his fist at the older man, “I'll be back! This isn't over!! You're going to hear from us!" he threatened and fled out of the room in haste, leaving his men behind. With a chuckle, the strange man called out to him, “Hey, I think you're forgetting something”, but the man had already fled. The strange man expelled a breath and turned to Jason; before he began gathering his belongings, Jason focused his gaze on him, blinking rapidly while he watched. He was amazed by the man but was too stunned and numb to speak. The strange man packed up his things and rushed over to Jason's bedside, “We need to leave! Now!" he thundered as he wrapped his arms around Jason to lift him. Dazed, Jason wobbled to his feet as the man assisted him through the door. Jason took a last look at the place that had been his home, the place where he had met his Angel and tears seeped out his eyes as he realized he wouldn't be seeing her again, With Jason huddled by the man's side, they walked out the door, and as they passed the threshold, there was a loud explosion behind.Southeast Province Prison Adam Sanders stood in front of the prison clad in the last outfit he had worn to his former home. His back to the prison walls as he faced the outside world. 'Freedom at last' he sighed to himself as he embraced the feel of the sun and natural breeze on his skin. He hadn't felt that in a few years. The feeling was too good to be true, the feel of the breeze was like morning to his night. Looking up to the sky with pitiful eyes, Adam found tears streaming down his chin, unable to imagine that he had been released before his release date. No one knew he was coming back yet, and he preferred it that way. Three years ago, he had been wrongly incarcerated and thrown into prison after Williams B**e had him framed and imprisoned. "In your next life and world, you'd know not to drag with me. I'll see to your end and I'll finish you. Let me see how long it'll take you to get out. You'll rot in there all your miserable life" Those were the exact words Williams
"Young Master?""Yes Raul, it is me.""It's about time Sir, how are you doing? You're grandfat…" Before he could continue, Adam cut him short"There's no time for pleasantries now Raul. I need you to help me do a few things""Nice to hear from you Master, how can I be of service to you Sir?""I need you to meet me at my apartment, and also get a suitable change of clothing for me from any good store, you know my size. and please come around with a present suitable for a three-year-old child" Adam directed to his right-hand man and staff. "Got it, Sir, I'll be there ASAP" Raul speedily replied"Thank you, Raul, that'll be all for now" Without awaiting his response, Adam ended the call, stretching the phone back to the driver, he handed it back to him"Thank you for letting me use your phone" he thanked the driver. The driver on the other hand didn't know how to respond. From the snippet of conversation he heard, it would seem his passenger was some big shot or some criminal who was tr
Adam couldn't help but wonder what was going on, and left him confused and worried, realising he wasn't going to get any other information from the landlord, he headed back out to meet the taxi driver. He met the taxi guy, tapping his steering wheels in anticipation of his return. Without hesitation, Adam opened the back door and slid in, realising he needed to make another call, he silently asked the driver for his phone once again, "Hey Mister, please I'd like to use your phone again" The driver stared on confusingly, and he could feel him getting agitated on hearing the request, the driver turned to look back at him, his eyes filled with irritation. "Are you trying to play me or something Sir!? If you don't have any money to pay me better let me know! Scrap that! Pay me my money! I've driven you around town, you've wasted my day for nothing. I could have more trips with the time I've taken you round and now you want my phone!?" the driver angrily retorted. Adam tried to hide his
"You!?" Madame Cecil was shocked to see Adam, especially right on their ground, she hurriedly hid and replaced the shock, and with eyes filled with contempt, she glared at Adam, her voice was laced with malice and hatred as she continually glared at Adam, wishing him into oblivion "What are you doing here, and how did you get this place, you bloody riff-raff!? Who let you in!?" she glanced at the security who had his hands raised"I haven't let him in Ma'am, I was just about to kick him out before your arrival Madam." the security swiftly defended himself as he also glared at Adam. Adam on the other hand couldn't believe his eyes, he didn't think his mother-in-law would be the one to greet him. He was well aware that she hated his guts and always felt like Louisa could have chosen better as she was a beauty. He knew she didn't see him as fit or worthy to be referred to as her son-in-law. In all of the confusion, Adam had yet to speak nor defend himself "See as he stares like the l
You clearly are a fool. They say looks can be deceiving, but I fail to notice what in god's name must have had you deceived with this tattered and unkempt looking fool. Surely Sir, you are indeed a fool."The taxi driver had yet to free Adam from his tight grasp, he felt utterly berated by the older lady but couldn't counter her, as she was right. He felt like a fool and vowed to take out his anger on the miscreant he was currently holding. From the corner of his eyes, the taxi driver watched as a shiny white sedan pulled up on the driveway, and the drinker honked at the gate. The windows were tinted, so no one had yet to see the occupant of the classy ride. Cecil on seeing the car was giddy inside, another person who hated the very sight of Adam had arrived, and she was sure that he'd happily join in the goading and tormenting of Adam, she watched as the gates slid open automatically, the car was moving in until it suddenly stopped and parked by Adam and the taxi man. As the car d
In an instant, the growling and barking of dogs suddenly filled the air, Cecil found herself rejoicing as the dogs were also going to add to the total humiliation and destruction of Adam. "Finally!! I wonder what took the foolish security to round up those dogs." turning to face the direction of the barks, she declared at the top of her voice, to continuously draw in the attention of the growing crowd. "Whoa, the poor man is about to get bitten and chewed as dinner by those dogs, they do sound hungry""I'm going to be here to watch it all playdown. I'm not moving an inch from here" The crowd murmured amongst themselves, all in anticipation of what their eyes were about to feast on. Some of them couldn't wait to get home and relay the events of the day to their loved ones. The security guard finally appeared with another security man, both of them grappling to contain five leashed dogs who were struggling to be free of their leash. The dogs ranging from dobermans to pit bulls and a
Adam wasted no time in heading to the address, although a part of him wondered if he was being set up, due to how fast Logan had changed his mind and given him the location of Louisa. He found himself wishing Ariel would be with her, his arms ached to carry her and feel her. He walked briskly as he tried to locate the area. Thanks to Cecil and Logan he had no means of transportation anymore nor a way to contact Raul. Raul surely must have been searching for him, he hoped that against all odds, Raul would prove himself competent and find him.As Adam walked by the side of the road, he failed to notice a loose thorn in a shrub, seeking to devour its victim, at the last minute, he unfortunately noticed it just as the thorn tore through his trousers and into his flesh"Fuck! Bloody hell. Can this day get any worse" he profanely cursed at the thorn, while trying to soothe the throbbing pain that ran down his calf to his ankle. Ignoring the pain in his legs, Adam limped on slightly as bl
"I'm sorry Sir for disturbing the serenity of our establishment, but this poor and tattered-looking man thinks he can waltz in, with an air of arrogance into our restaurant and get away with it. Last I checked Sir, this is a reputable place for only the elites and he sure doesn't look nor dress like an elite to me Sir" Adam could feel the gaze of the man who he assumed to be the manager appraising him, he stole a glance at the man's face, the manager's expression was like that of someone who had sucked on an unripened lemon, his face was so sour. The manager neared him, standing at a mere 5"12, he tried to intimidate Adam, 'If only these people knew who he had become' Adam kept his thoughts to himself, there wasn't any need proving himself to these ones, they were hell-bent on judging this book by its covers. "Sir, you know that you cannot afford to buy a cheap meal for yourself, as such, you most definitely cannot afford to even buy a plate of our cheapest meal or even a glass o
