As much as the issue hurt Quincy— the betrayal, the lies, the deception, he tried to shove it off his mind and concentrate on other important things.

Any situation that could delay his mission against the people who treated him wrong, he didn't want space for it in his mind. He was just going to try to forget all about Lauren, even though she had grown to become a comfort.

Quincy looked down at the files in front of him and rubbed his temples. The words on it were plain, but hard to digest because his mind was somewhere else.

“Damn it. Stop thinking.” He said, and covered his face with his hands, hating the odd feeling of loneliness that plagued him.

He ended up leaving work early in the morning, unable to focus and do his tasks with precision.

When Quincy got home, he walked to the fridge, and took out a bottle of water, twisting the cap, and draining the content down his parched throat.
