chapter 69

Lauren’s reflection period seemed to be a serious one, filled with so many flashbacks. She couldn’t help, but go back to the past, and it seemed to be her way of healing and reflecting on her actions, gradually.

~flashback~

“Lauren, that's the least of your problems right now. What are we going to do about what we feel for him?” If he was going to get engaged, then…” She paused.

“What about me? Would I be forced to smile at his wedding? And when he gave birth to his kids, would I have to love them, hold them, and be nice to them?” She thought to herself.

Lauren got back home, in an even more sour mood, but happened to run into Quincy in the hallway close to her room. When he saw her, he strode over to her, and surprisingly wrapped her in a hug. Her heart began to beat crazily like it wanted to split itself open against the ribcage of her chest, and her cheeks colored a bright crimson.

Lauren wanted to wrap her arms around him, but instead, she retreated, feeling anger wash over me.
