The grand dining hall was on the first floor of the auction building.

Hundreds of billionaires or their representatives were sitting at different tables full of items some of them have never seen before.

Leander of the Shadow Consortium was staring at the crab in front of him, as it was still moving. “Who the heck put a live crab in here? Are you bastards planning to make me throw up before I even start eating?”

“If you’re not going to eat, I will,” an obese guy sitting on three chairs together took the bowl of crabs and sucked them all into his mouth and crunched on them.

“Mad Monk…” Leander looked disgusted. “I shouldn’t have sat next to him. Mm?” He glanced toward one of the entrances.

Denver, Sheryl, and Catherine entered the room.

“Mm…” Leander observed their body language. “All three of them are in great shape. Look at them, Mad Monk. That’s what you call being healthy. You shouldn’t cut down on your meals, or you won’t get a girlfriend in your life.”

“Hmph, let me prove you w

His hand was still on the table, but it slightly lifted and smashed it down, causing the golden plate and a few other items to bounce off the table. The second dagger hit the golden plate and made a dent through the plate and went for Denver’s chest. But Sheryl caught it when the dagger was an inch away from his chest.“Who the hell is it?!” Bald Falcon kicked the chair back and turned around. To his shock, it wasn’t just one or two groups, but multiple groups sitting at multiple tables all had their eyes shimmering with greed.“Are you guys seeking death?” Bald Falcon raised the dagger in his hand. “Which bastard threw this?”However, nobody responded.“It was the Drunken Assassin,” Leander and Sheryl said at the same time, making both of t

In the brief moment the golden table and the silver table collided, the Drunken Assassin Sakeda turned into a flash and landed on the tables, took two daggers out of his sleeves and leaped toward Denver like a shooting star. “The millennium herb is mine!”Sakeda immediately threw a dagger upward, making Denver wonder what he was doing. The dagger he had thrown cut up the steel chain that was holding the heavy diamond chandelier, causing it to fall.At the same time, Sakeda came flying at Denver, grinning like a beast, throwing another hidden dagger at Catherine by just waving his long sleeve.“This crazy bastard…” Denver’s heart hammered against this chest as he instinctively moved to defend his girlfriend.“Leave the chandelier to me,” Sheryl put her hands on the floor, but then jumped at Sakeda instead.Sakeda was not expecting her to come to her, especially after what she said, so he was a fraction of a second late to react.Sheryl’s foot stomped on his face and sent him packing ba

“You’re so eager to meet your maker… So be it!” Tyron snapped his fingers.Nearly fifty armed assassins, completely dressed in black from head to toe entered the hall from different directions.“You think you can handle them, Boss?” Sheryl looked at Denver.“I’m not superman,” Denver replied, “but my priority right now is only to leave this damn place safely with my girlfriend. Nothing else.” He locked his arm around Catherine’s waist.“I’ll make the way, so focus on escaping and nothing else,” Sheryl replied.“What about you?”“Oh, I won’t die that easily, Boss,” Sheryl replied.“Let me help you escape,” Bald Falcon joined them because Denver had rescued his wife from Tyron’s attack not long ago.“Seeing how you’re planning an escape makes me pity you all the more, Denver,” Tyron coldly smiled. “You’ve become weak after falling in love with a woman and getting betrayed by her.”Catherine frowned, wondering if Tyron was talking about Diane. But then, did Denver fall in love with Diane

As Denver ran away with Catherine in his arms, he kept hearing voices in his head. What’s strange was that this was his own voice in the past.“You want me to work on myself before getting a girlfriend? Work for what? To bring used goods and a headache into my life?”“Getting into a relationship should be a reward not a punishment.”“I work on myself for myself, not for someone else.”These memories were strongly telling Denver to let go of Catherine, that she didn’t deserve him.So, it was very difficult for him to reject his own voice that was trying to control his current mind.Denver rushed to the parking lot, where there were many limousines. The Falcon Group members were supposed to be here, but because of the commotion, they had all gone to the auction building to solve the issue.Denver told her, “Drive the car. I’ll sit on top.”Catherine had doubts, but after seeing him destroy the thick stone floor with a wounded hand, she thought that she should listen to him without quest

Sakeda, to put it mildly, was a mess.He waved his knife, and the helicopter was cut in two halves.Catherine was terrified by what she saw. He managed to cut the helicopter in twain with what looked like a kitchen knife? And Denver was supposed to fight such a nasty maniac?Denver jumped off the car and ran toward the helicopter as fast as he could, but Sakeda was quicker. The pilot begged him to not kill, saying, “I have two kids. Don’t kill me.”“The weak don’t get to choose shit, kekeke,” Sakeda thrust the knife in the pilot’s heart just as Denver was upon him.“Stop!” Denver threw a punch, but Sakeda jumped away in time and made some distance before dashing toward the car.“I’ll kill your girlfriend next!” Sakeda blurted. “Stop me if you can!”Denver’s eyes widened as Sakeda took out a small dagger and shot it toward the car, aimed at Catherine.Denver didn’t even have the time to spare for the pilot who was in his last moments. He stomped on the ground, causing red lightning to

Huffing, Denver quickly ran over to check on Catherine. She collapsed to her knees and was just in shock from the dagger wound. The dagger was coated with a paralyzing poison, so she wasn’t able to move freely, either. The effects would have been worse if not for the lingering traces of the millennium herb in her body.Denver took out a red pellet and fed it to her. She was able to barely swallow it.She also had a red pellet with her, for Sheryl had given one to her before coming to the fortress. However, she was not in a position to move now.“I will take it out,” Denver held the dagger, but Catherine cried, though only slightly. She was clearly terrified to even look at her shoulder.“It’ll be alright,” Denver covered her eyes and then pulled the dagger out.He didn’t have the time to treat her wound as the underlings of Tyron caught up with them. There were nearly a dozen of them.Anticipating a drunken man’s next move was difficult, but Denver could see the expressions in these m

In the auction building.Sheryl had defeated sixteen people already, killed four more, and she was just starting to sweat. But the blood on her hands made it appear like she was wearing red gloves.“She’s really strong,” Mad Monk opined. “And her weapon’s range is hard to predict. It’s a sword at first sight, but it can extend into a spear. It doesn’t look like a mere illusion, as people are dying from it. Just what kind of tech do you Hawkers have access to?” he glanced at Tyron who was standing nearby.“If you kill her, I’ll fill you in on some details,” Tyron calmly replied.“Mhm…” Mad Monk didn’t talk much after that. (There’s a reason why he’s using others to fight her instead of directly attacking her. She’s not an opponent that goes down without a fight. It’s in such fights we tend to lose a limb or two. That would be bad for someone with big aspirations of becoming a king like Tyron Nighthawk.)Still and all, Mad Monk stepped forward. He was a hulking brute who could send shiv

Tyron became a blur and appeared in front of Sheryl who was in a tough spot as she had just pierced the laser blade through Mad Monk Cage’s heart.Tyron’s hand reached her face. She let go of the laser blade and deflected his hand. Her mask came off, and a small cut formed on her forehead, causing blood to drip and cover one of her eyes.Tyron clenched his fist, and a spherical air ball swirled around his hand. “Storm Fist!” He punched her at a terrifying speed.Sheryl once more deflected his fist with great effort. The attack went past her and blew a massive hole in Mad Monk’s torso.Mad Monk’s face was still burning with fury. With his mouth tightly shut to stop the blood from spilling out, he unleashed a torrent of punches at Tyron.“Still not dead even with a hole in your belly and a laser sword in your heart?” Tyron was impressed.Tyron was able to easily dodge all of Mad Monk’s attacks.“You are too slow. If you were at your full strength, you would have done a better job,” Tyro

If we destroy that chip, then the snake won’t be able to regenerate.”“But where’s that chip?” Alex asked. “How will we know?”“I’m afraid my aura is not skillful enough to enter other people’s bodies and check them,” Sheryl responded. “That’s something medics are good at. I’m neither a medic nor a master aura user.”“Then we have to destroy the entirety of t

Suddenly, his nose jerked a little.“Wait…” He stopped. “Smell tha

I just have to dump the gift and then speed off and go get my million dollars.”Just then a person flew up through the clouds.“I-Is that a person?” The pilot was shocked to see Mickey who was floating in the jet’s path. “Is he trying to kill himself?”Mickey raised his hand, and the fighter jet’s speed came to a halt before it reached him.The pilot nearly shat his heart out through his butthole. He still quickly recovered and pressed the red button.A big missile dropped, but then it didn’t go the way he intended it to.Rather, it started to float and went under Mickey’s feet. Standing on it, he stared down at the pilot. The pilot dropped the gum in his mouth.“You gotta be shitting me…” All the hairs on his bod

A few minutes later.Denver sat down on a broken rock, with Catherine sitting next to him.She was awake and was staring at Drake who was talking with Sheryl in the distance. “Who is he exactly?”“Don’t think too much,” Denver touched her neck to feel her temperature. “Are you feeling okay now?”“Yeah,” Catherine loved seeing the worry on his face. She quickly gave him a kiss.Seeing that, Alex’s eyes turned a little wider.Denver was feeling hot inside because of having to push himself to fight Drake, but Catherine’s kiss surprisingly made him feel better. It was just a simple kiss, but it was priceless to him.At the same time, he was wondering if he should tell Catherine about his past. After thinking about it, he said, “Cat, I might have killed some people in the past.”“Okay. So?”“Even women.”“So?” Catherine didn’t seem upset about it. “Don’t tell me you killed children, too?”“I don’t think so, but I don’t know,” Denver hesitantly said. “My memories are slowly coming back, but

But he was still alive.“You stretched out your aura to destroy the falling blocks before it hit him,” Drake muttered. “I almost want to rejoice for witnessing such a brilliant move while our skulls clashed.”He came floating down a

Sheryl couldn’t help but frown while looking at the old man with a hawk tattoo on his fully shaved head. (This bastard faked his aura and tricked us into coming here. I can’t believe I took the bait. Forget about getting a treasure, if he wants to make things difficult for us…) “What are you doing here, Penal Master?” she asked aloud.Drake wasn’t even looking at Sheryl. His gaze was on the tallest man. “Don Denver… you broke the code and went on a personal mission for three years.”“And the king has already stripped him of his rank,” Sheryl was quick to reply. “There’s nothing more for you to add to the king’s decree… unless you’re siding with one of the rankers and are taking their side, which means you are not fit to be the head of the penal hall since that position requires you to be neutral.”She had to talk provocatively in order to grab his attention.“Green Fang…” Drake’s eyes turned darker. “You didn’t stop your boss from leaving, so you should receive punishment as well.”“

If those jackals are smart, they’ll know whom to pick a fight with and whom to not!”She released aura through her body, which was barely felt by Alex, and it also made the light flicker. However, the jackals which were closing in suddenly stopped. After sensing the aura, they were hesitant at first.Sheryl released more aura in the direction of the jackals, and they all turned and ran away.“The red eyes are gone,” Alex was quite surprised. “I’ve never seen those beasts retreat without even putting up a fight. Did you use aura? How did you do it?”“It’s not something yo

After Catherine fainted, Denver caught her before she collapsed to the ground. The moment Denver sat on the ground with her, a few monsters rushed in and attacked them, wanting to make use of this situation to kill them.Sheryl fought beasts on one side, and Alex fought the beasts on another side, but there were too many for her to deal with, so Denver and Sheryl had to temporarily run away from there. The carnivorous trees also tried to catch them with their vines, but failed to do so as Alex led them through a secret passage which led them to enter the stone caves.Stone caves were an underground network of dungeons, where creatures stranger and stronger than the ones in the Lost Garden lived. There was no light in the tunnels of the stone caves. It was completely dark ahead of them.Alex took out a cigar lighter. “It is suicidal to enter this place without proper preparting, but we had no choice, so let’s find the nearest way out.”“First of all, we have to treat Catherine,” Denver
