Chapter 12. Entertainment Business

The receptionist who greeted Ethan was confused by the man's purpose. She didn't answer Ethan's question and instead called her friends, naturally asking them to help her answer Ethan's question.

"KG Entertainment is a company engaged in the music, esports, and movie industries. What exactly are you looking for here? Do you have any friends who work here or what?" asked the receptionist, beginning to grow suspicious of Ethan's demeanor, different from the previous guests who had come here.

"Is that so, huh? Can you show me?" asked Ethan, looking into the eyes of the woman standing before him.

She seemed to be talking to her partner again, a scared and strange expression on her face. One of the employees was seen walking out of the reception desk to go to the security guard at the entrance.

The woman said that Ethan was suspicious, so she asked the security guards to secure the man. In the end, two security guards did what the woman wanted.

"Sir. I ask you to come with us," said one of the men standing near Ethan.

"Why?" asked Ethan flatly.

"You're behaving suspiciously. We need to ask you a few questions," said the male colleague beside him, wearing the same security guard uniform.

Ethan certainly cannot refuse them. It would only make the situation worse in this place. The man went with the two to reach the security officer's room. Not only the three of them but a man dressed as an employee also came along to listen to Ethan's explanation.

The security officer's room was not far from the reception room, just outside the KG Entertainment building. The four men walked together until Ethan sat in a chair in front of the desk, one of the security officers also sitting behind the desk.

"What is your purpose in coming here?" asked the security guard, his eyes fixed firmly on Ethan.

"My purpose? Of course, I wanted to find out what KG Entertainment does," Ethan said.

"My friend told me what we do, so what are you going to do?" asked one of the men, dressed in the same employee attire as the receptionist.

"She just gave me an introduction. I need detailed information," Ethan replied.

The security guard sitting in front of Ethan didn't move an inch. He was still staring at Ethan with a sharp gaze as if he wanted the man to speak the truth immediately. They continued to force Ethan to talk about his true purpose, but Ethan repeatedly explained that it was his purpose.

"This is pointless. Should we call Manager Claire to explain to him?" the male employee asked.

"Call her. Maybe I can get more information about KG Entertainment from her than you," Ethan said.

When Ethan agreed to talk to the manager, Claire, the man in front of him shook his head. The security guard argued and suspected that Ethan was a spy from another company; giving him access to Manager Claire would only worsen things.

"I will not allow him to meet with Ms. Claire, not even to enter the building again," said the security guard, speaking firmly as he was in charge of the building's security.

"The only thing I'll allow is for you to leave this place," the man ordered, agreed by his partner.

The male employee who came with them also seemed to agree. There was no point in him contradicting what the security guards were saying. Ethan could do nothing except obey what they wanted.

He left the security room while being escorted by the two men, unlike the other male employee who chose to walk into the building. Just as he was about to get into his white car, he looked again at the KG Entertainment building, now filled with curious company employees.

"Then I'll ask my friend to talk to Claire. Is that okay?" asked Ethan.

The man near him just laughed softly as he said yes. Ethan's words didn't convince him, and he thought everything the young man said was nonsense. Ethan smiled and said goodbye to them all.

Many KG Entertainment employees were talking about Ethan, especially about his strange behavior. Not a few of them questioned Ethan's identity until he arrived in a luxury car, including talking casually to company employees.

In his white car, Ethan drove straight away, leaving KG Entertainment to get to the Kingsley residence. He would send Astrid to the place if he could not get information about the cause of the company's losses.

About thirty minutes into the trip, the gates of the Kingsley residence opened as Ethan arrived. He parked his white car in front of the house door while handing over the car keys to one of the male servants on the premises.

Ethan's white car was immediately deposited into the garage near the main house. He walked up the steps to Kingsley's doorstep, but his steps stopped when he saw Astrid coming out of the house.

"Good afternoon, Ethan," Astrid greeted, and Ethan smiled in greeting.

"Afternoon, Astrid. I see you look happy now. What's going on?" asked Ethan, curious about Astrid's current feelings.

"Nothing important," Astrid said, smiling as she closed her eyes.

"Come on, tell me about it. Maybe we can make a celebration about it," Ethan replied, standing directly in front of her.

"My little brother, he got into his favorite university," Astrid said.

The woman told Ethan about her brother with a joyful heart. She also explained that her brother went to college because of her hard work, so she was happy he could have a higher education.

"Wow, congratulations to you and your little brother. I'm glad to hear that," Ethan praised, Astrid blushing even more at Ethan's congratulations.

"Thank you, Mr. Ethan," Astrid replied.

The two walked into the house to talk about KG Entertainment. Ethan noticed that none of Sara's children were in the house. He figured they must be out doing their own stuff.

They walked until reaching the front of Ethan's office. Astrid was asked to come in by Ethan to discuss something, one of which was about KG Entertainment.

"What? You came to the KG building?" asked Astrid, surprised.

"Yes. I stopped by on my way home, but I didn't get to meet Claire, the manager at the company," Ethan replied, sitting in his chair with a stack of books on the table.

"Of course, you couldn't. Meeting a high-level officer of a company is difficult. At least you must make an appointment with her," Astrid explained. Arryn had just learned about that.

"Then what does KG Entertainment have to do with me? Do you need help meeting with Claire?" asked Astrid, clarifying the task Ethan was about to give her.

"If I meet her because of your help, she'll probably know I'm the real CEO before I introduce myself," Ethan explained, not wanting them to know he was the CEO before Ethan showed himself.

Ethan picked up the file relating to the recap of the information Finnley had given him. He showed the file to Astrid for her to take.

"Take the file and go to Claire. Tell me what's making them so unprofitable," Ethan pleaded.

"I'm not used to something like this. How about I ask Finnley to go along?" asked Astrid, asking permission.

Ethan smiled. He let Astrid take Finnley to KG Entertainment to gather as much information as possible about the company's losses. Astrid smiled and nodded, knowing what she had to do with Finnley.

"So, about the CEO position, when exactly will you show yourself to the public?" Astrid asked.

Ethan fell silent at the question, as he said he still didn't fully understand the CEO role. However, he said he would appear as soon as possible because the CEO position is quite essential in a company.

"As soon as possible. Wish I was ready for it."
