David Brighton was brought in handcuffs to the office of the Police chief.
The police chief did not seem happy, " Mr. David you're so lucky the victim whom you knocked down on the road with your car, has withdrew her charges against you. " He said with a smirk.
David smiled, but said no words.
It was not him. It was his wife. When his wife knelt down crying to David, begging him to take the blame for her, otherwise her company would be ruined, he was filled with both heartache and hesitation. However, when he found out that his wife would be treated harshly in prison, he agreed to her plea. After all, it wasn't a serious accusation. He would do that if it could save his wife's reputation. And for David, not like she has a company, he has nothing to lose.

The two officers who brought David to the chief's office fetched out their keys and freed him.
The face of his beautiful wife Ashley appeared before David's face like a trance.
He had missed her so badly that he can't wait to return home.

He exhaled deeply, sniffing the deep sensation of fresh air as he walks out of the station.

Now, the first thing he wanted to do is to call Ashley and break the news to her and most importantly, today was supposed to be their wedding anniversary. He was happy to be released on this faithful day.
He dailed her phone, but she was not picking up.
He tried again, but after several attempt, he decided hang on.
"She's a busy businesswoman. She'll be very surprised when she sees me back home already. " He said, feeling delighted.

He brought out his brown wallet from his pocket and flipped the cover.
All he got is the few dollars he made on his job that particular day he got arrested.
He sighed. Though it's not much, but it could manage to buy some bunch of beautiful red roses present for his darling wife who's apparently spending the whole week alone in their matrimonial bedroom.

Standing upon the door, David's heart brimmed with joy as he glanced at his beautiful home.
"1 whole month away, don't know how happy she would be when she finally sees me, I just hope she wouldn't cry. " He proudly stated.

When he grips towards the knob of the door, a slight screeching note sounded from the edges and the door swung open.

"Why is the door still opened by these time of the night? "
" Of course, she probably forgot to lock the entrance door after returning from her office again just like always, " He assumed, knowing how careless his wife could be sometimes.
But however, before he could enter the house, his eye noticed something awkward.
He turned his head around and noticed a black GMC Hummer Ev jeep packed beside his wife's car in the open garage.
" Huh? " His mind was a little blown away.
" Who owns this car? Did the old lady buy Ashley these expensive jeep? "
Speaking of the old lady, he was talking about the elegant Lady Selma, the biggest card in the Forrest family. Since the departure of her husband, Mr. Forrest, she has been the one managing the affairs and fortune of the entire Forrest family and also the family's multimillion dollar company.
