Chapter Eight: Duo in Crime

Maya swayed her hip as she walked on her five inches heels.

She wore a body fitted maxi dress that accentuated her beauty.

Her milky skin evident from her protruding cleavage and stunning neckline.

Her flat tummy and curvy hips gratifying. 

She is an illusion of gorgeousness and sophistication.

Her feminine voice and dimples did justice to her cute face.

Even when going through poverty phase with Spence she would spend lavishly on her skincare regardless.

Stepping her foot into Golden Fingers,all heads turned in her direction.

Her flowery scented colongue filled the air tantalizing their nostrils accentuating her elegance.

Her gracefulness was met with pleasant respect from the workers but she didn't fail to notice their whispers as she passed by.

She wasn't shaken by it as she had prepared beforehand for the backbites and backlashes.

Few months ago,she would visit Golden Fingers with a lunchbox for her wretched husband 

Today she walked in authoritatively as the woman of the CEO, an obvious twist in fate 

"Good morning ma'am" Mrs Bush greeted her cheerfully 

" Hello Mrs Bush,it's a pleasure seeing you again " Maya said pleasantly 

" Thank you ma'am " Mrs Bush responded gratefully 

" Congratulations on the birth of your son" Maya said happily 

" Thank you ma'am, congratulations on your engagement and pregnancy too,you both make a cute couple " Mrs Bush responded excitedly 

Maya smiled in response,she knew they weren't a cute couple beneath the surface 

" Is my fiance in?" Maya asked with all smiles 

" Yes ma'am" Mrs Bush responded immediately 

" I will inform him of your arrival ma'am " Mrs Bush offered but Maya dismissed it 

" Don't I have full access to my fiance" Maya interjected and before the secretary could say more,she walked into Leonard 's office without knocking 

Mrs Bush rolled her eyes at the disrespect, in truth she didn't like Maya from the moment she knew her constant visit to her boss's office was for sexual escapades 

She always felt pity for the goodlooking  contract staff that married her but she couldn't bring herself to reveal her promiscuity to him 

Not until their engagement was finalized and she got an order of termination of the innocent man's contract with their company Golden Fingers.

"Aren't you happy to see me?" Maya said dejectedly looking over at Leonard who wasn't returning her excitement energy

" I am but I told you to stop visiting my office unannounced,at least for now"Leonard said defensively 

" Are you worried about your reputation?" Maya asked feigning hurtfulness 

Leonard stood up from his seat and engulfed her in a tight embrace 

" I am sorry about last night" Leonard said calmly

" It's okay, you didn't mean to hurt me,I know right" Maya said kissing his lips

Leonard nodded in affirmation and returned Maya's pleasurable kiss.

" Is the storm over now?" Leonard asked hoping he gets to hear a positive response 

" Yes,he signed the divorce and sent a lost cause like himself to pack his luggage " Maya said excitedly 

Leonard smiled at Maya, he drew her closer and planted a soft kiss on her succulent lips 

He didn't like loose ends, having their marriage annulled officially gave him the go ahead to have her tied to him.

Leonard sat Maya down on the giant sofa in his office.

He took her hand in his and curved it to trace her non existent baby bump

Maya giggled excitedly, she couldn't wait to give birth to the heir of Golden Fingers 

That has always been her consolation from when their affair kick started, becoming the woman of Golden Fingers

Getting to wrap the power of authority right around her manicured fingernails.

" I met her personal assistant yesterday" Leonard said with enthusiasm 

"Whose?" Maya asked trying to focus on keeping Leonard 's attention 

" That fox Selena Hale" Leonard said spitefully 

Maya didn't know if she needed to be jealous or not.

Leonard meeting a woman that could elevate him could make her beauty less attractive to him, he is a businessman afterall 

" Do you think she will be of any assistance to us?" Maya asked hoping for a negative response 

" I think meeting her gave me more hope and raised my chance at shooting my shot" Leonard declared proudly making Maya quite uncomfortable 

" Is she that gullible?" Maya asked with a questioning brow 

" When a woman is smitten by a man's charm, she sure becomes gullible " Leonard said with pride

" Did you sleep with her?" Maya asked obviously getting irritated 

" I did nothing of such, I was only talking about how I noticed she was crushing on me, look at yourself,you fell for a wretched goodlooking boy,crush crashes girls intelligence" Leonard said bluntly 

Maya felt offended but she had to maintain her pleasant smile.

Payback time will pinch, she promised herself 

" Hmmm" Maya muttered shamefaced 

" Let me burst your bubble, I met her because I got a tip that Selena was in a vegetative state, in my pretense to check up on her, I met Bella" Leonard said reminiscing on the memory of it

" Did you get some flowers for her?" Maya asked with an hint of sarcasm that Leonard missed out on 

" Of course I did but ended up presenting it to Bella in a bid to make her blabber on" Leonard said 

" She did?" Maya asked curiously 

" She told me Selena is dying of cancer" Leonard said excitedly which irks Maya

"Wow!" Maya said playing along 

" Ryan Hale might have to take over soon,as soon as Zillow Jade announce her health condition formally ofcourse" Leonard declared 

" Very true" Maya said with rapt attention 

" The only problem is even Bella knows nothing about Ryan Hale, there is no way to get close to him before he assumes the CEO, naive people are easy to manipulate ,don't you think?" Leonard asked 

" You are right " Maya responded 

Leonard shifted on the sofa, feeling proud of himself for extracting as much personal information about Zillow Jade that even the rest of the public are in the dark about 

" I have a suggestion" Maya said smiling devishly 

" Spill it " Leonard encouraged curiously 

" Let us give Zillow Jade a push by creating an anonymous rumor about Selena Hale's health challenge " Maya concluded discerning Leonard's reaction to her cunning suggestion.

To her joy, Leonard raised his right thumb up while she clapped hers to it signaling he agrees with her suggestion.
