Leonard's sharp gaze followed in her stride,he scoffed loudly drawing her attention to him

Maya laughed hysterically " you do not seize to amaze me Lord Leo" she said sarcastically lighting the cigarette which Leonard forced out of her hand.

" Don't kill my heir before he is born or was he fathered by the good -for- nothing?" he asked authoritatively unleashing his disastrous temper.

" It took me hours reminiscing over why that fox Selena Hale treated me with disdain, until I found out you have been shagging her assistant" she cried out bitterly.

Leonard stopped in his track " so you have something to cover up hun! you wan

  • Chapter One Hundred and Three: Blooming Cherry.

I had misunderstood Cherry, she was an escort but more surprisingly, she was very intelligent.“So Mr Hale, I told you last night that you planned to dine with the devil.” She said suddenly jolting me out of my admiration.“Dine with the devil? What did we discuss last night? Infact tell me everything that happened last night after my third bottle of wine.” I said firmly. She gave me a doubtful look and focused on munching her donuts before she responded to me.“Well, I met you on the fifth bottle so we will skip what happened in my absence.”“Sure.” I responded immediately getting agitated. The suspense she was putting on me was starting to get me annoyed. I woke up in a strange bed at a low level room where I had never been before. When I looked out of the window, it turned out I was in the same trenches where I used to meet with Pamela my strategist.“Well, I walked in and I got to the bar to pick up my….client,” Spence nodded encouragingly. “Then you grabbed my shoulder and asked

  • Chapter One Hundred and Two: Outrageous Demand.

“What would it be, fellas?” He shouted again.Gale and Spence exchanged glances. Even Selena that had ducked her head earlier started to raise it. She knew the end was definitely coming but she hadn’t envisaged being gunned down by a lunatic psychotic criminal. The loud banging sound subsided and so did the threatening words. Gale crawled slowly toward Selena while he kept punching on his cellphone, he had requested for backup but he knew they had to hold out and survive before the team arrived. The man at the door became really impatient. He brought out a firearm and aimed for the door. He sprayed a few bullets in the air but none of it could penetrate the bulletproof door. Hale knew it was a matter of time before the man took another way out and he knew feeling relaxed could endanger all of them.He kept putting a call across to the backup team again, unfortunately, the network signals in the house were already jammed and he had no means of reaching anyone. They were trapped, they kn

  • Chapter One Hundred and One: Gravely Wounded.

“Are you going to arrest me now?”Selena’s chest tightened. Despite the fact that she tried to act tough in front of her brother and lover. She knew deep down, she was wounded. She had blamed herself severally for everything that happened while she was younger, it all didn’t make sense that she had to endure so much toxicity that she ended up as everyone’s nightmare.“No Sel, I said it earlier, I am not here as a detective.” Hale responded.Spence didn’t! He just looked sadly at his sister whose life had been ruined from the onset. He didn’t blame her, he dared not. She didn’t have the same privilege of a caring mother like Mrs Wellington. All Selena had ever done was thrive in the harsh world. He didn’t have to go through all that, all he lacked was wealth and now that he had all of that, he quite misses the old days.“How could you do that to a child?” Spence said at last.“I didn’t kill him intentionally, I just didn’t save him from harm, that’s all.” She picked up her phone and st

  • Chapter Hundred: Out Of Line

*Flashback* “I won’t condone this Pete.”Clara, Spence’s mum cried out angrily. She turned young Selena’s back and her eyes scanned through the scars that lie heavily on it, some of the parts still bleeding. She held Ryan who kept staring at the crying Selena. Peter on the other hand raised a defiant gaze and looked over at the damage he had done as if it didn’t matter at all.“She needed to be punished.” He said casually.Clara was made with rage. She picked up Ryan and took him to the other bedroom, Selena followed beside her and when she got to the room Lena, the mansion head maid came forward. Clara instructed her to treat Selena’s wound which she did gently. The other woman stared at the child’s back in awe.Her insides cringe at the thought of an adult doing that to a child. Lena had worked for Clara longer before she got married to Peter, a poor countryside bumpkin whom she somehow fancied; unfortunately, behind her back, he had always attempted to lay with her.“Lena, breathe
