Robert stood by the transparent door of the hospital's entrance and watched the downpour. It had suddenly switched from a gentle one to a rather violent and heavy one. He sighed in frustration as he thought about all that was going on. Liam and Raymond could only look at him, pity in each of their eyes. It seemed they couldn't comfort him no matter how much they tried.Just then, a young man of about thirty years walked out of the emergency unit, his hands in his white robe as he strode gracefully. Liam rushed to him immediately."How is he, doctor? He is fine, right?" Liam asked impatiently, eagerly waiting for a reply."Calm down, sir. Calm down. Are you Mr William's son? Or grandsons?" He asked calmly, his eyes moving from Liam to Raymond who stood just closeby. As if Robert heard him speak, he turned and rushed back to where his friend waited. Upon seeing the doctor, he rushed towards him, almost stammering as the questions came pouring in."Is he okay, doc? How is he doing now? C
Robert was alone with his grandfather, watching as the old man's eyes were closed peacefully. From his view, it seemed as if the old man was frowning. Robert's head was down turned, in a manner that would make it seem as though he was staring to the ground, whilst his eyes and entire focus was on the ninety year old man who laid motionless."How could I have ever let this happen to you, Grandfather?" He said to himself, his voice was nothing short of a whisper, a whisper that was seemingly loud because the nurse turned to look at him. But he didn't notice her, or her presence even."I should have never left you alone" he said once more, his fist folded as though he was about going in for a punch. "Why are these things happening now? Now that I am in charge of the company? Why now?" He was not referring his questions to the old man. He was actually talking to himself. His face was grim, he wore a frown, untop of it was a pair of red eyes. All of this gave him a terrible countenance th
Sophia graced through the doors of her parent's mansion with a little bag hanging over her shoulder. Her parents were so happy seeing that her overall expression and mood had changed for the better since Michael came back in to her life. She was no longer up in her room all day, sulking over Robert who wanted nothing to do with her. Her mother, Roseline rose from the cosy cushion and went to meet her little, precious angel."Ohh! My baby is back." She said with a beautiful, whole smile as she wrapped her hands over Sophia, taking the bag from her as she let her go. "How did your vacation go? You were with Michael, huh?" Roseline said slyly, throwing a flirtatious wink at her daughter."Mom!" She exclaimed with a laugh. "You don't have to be like this, you know. But I had a very good time with Michael and it isn't even what I would tag a vacation. But oh well, I enjoyed it.""But you were together for days snuggling and hugging and......" Roseline said in a mushy voice, holding the bag
The eyes of both Richard and Roseline had water waiting in them, almost about to drop into a downpour as they looked at Treasure who was had a light look of anger in her eyes. Although, there was a little glimmer in her eyes which showed that she missed them as well. Sophia stood still by the stairs, like a statue watching her sister. Roseline was the first to cry out in a tone that displayed how happy and yet how sad she felt. "My daughter where have you been? Why did you disappear from us like that? We have all missed you so much."Her heart was pounding hard. There was a lot of things going through her mind at the time, but seeing her daughter standing right there was enough to open herself to a wide array of emotions that almost had her bursting into mad wailing.Their father also stood up, although he was quiet at first, was the first to walk towards his long lost daughter. "What happened to you, Treasure? Where did you go to? We were worried sick about you. We have been lookin
Robert got back to the hospital at about 6pm in the evening. The sky was not dark, neither was it bright, but it was aesthetically beautiful and pleasant compared to the day Robert had just had. He alighted from his car, a dead tired look marred his long and handsome face. He sighed and went it. The hospital was beaming with sickening, bright lights everywhere. They made his head hurt. And it seemed like it had gotten a lot busier than when he had first gotten there earlier that day. As he approached the emergency unit, he looked around, searching for his friend, Liam and Raymond. But they seemed to be out of sight. They were simply gone. He sighed once more, his hands in his pocket as he pushed the door slightly open, wishing that things hadn't turned for the worst."You're finally here." Liam said as soon as he saw Robert, his voice trailing with relief. "Where the hell have you been?""I'm sorry, Liam. Today's just been...... " He paused and grunted in frustration, as he wiped hi
Robert felt a little nudge against his shoulder. His eyes reluctantly opened up slowly, fluttering lightly as he raised his head from the hospital bed. His gaze first met his grandfather, who's eyes were still closed. He looked around the room but there was no other person in the room. His eyes squinted suspiciously, as he lowered his head back to the bed."Maybe it was a dream." He muttered calmly. His lids still tired and ready to close once more in to a peaceful slumber, when he felt a touch on his shoulder, again. He rose up swiftly, his eyes scanning every bit of the room as he breathed nervously."Calm down, my child." Jude said calmly, laughing heartily in bed."Grandfather. You.... You're awake!" Robert exclaimed happily, standing up from the seat at once. "How do you feel? Are you alright?""Calm down, Robert." Jude said once more, coughing gently as he tried to sit up. Robert immediately held him up, helping him settle against the frame as gently as he could. "I'm fine. So d
Jude breathed in and out in a laboured manner, his fists clenching in anger. Robert rubbed his back gently, trying to calm him down."Now you see why I didn't want to ask you anything? I was sacred that this would happen. I don't want anything to happen to you, please.""No, don't worry. I'm sorry, okay? That name just brings back a lot of bad memories. But I want you to know that those people are liars. Goddamn liars, I tell you.""Do you know who Mr David is?" Robert asked curiously, leaning in."Well, I do not. But if he's one of the Trendtones, then he's bad news. Mendev is one of them as well." He paused for a moment as he realized that Mendev was in fact, a dead man. "Or was.""That is new. Who are the Trendtones? What exactly are they all about? Mr David explained that they were a group of top business men who supported each other in the business world. And just now, you said I shouldn't believe a word they say. So who are they?""Like I said before, they are liars. Damn liars w
Robert didn't know when tears started rolling down his face. Seeing his grandfather in so much pain was one thing. And knowing all that happened to his own father was another. Suddenly, he realized that he too was crying and he immediately wiped his face with his hands. Leaving his eyes wet and watery as he embraced his grandfather who was now sobbing seriously."Oh! My poor son." Those were the only words that escaped from Jude's mouth as tears rolled down his wrinkled face."It's fine, grandfather. It's all fine." He paused for a second, swallowing hard. "If father could see you right now, you know he wouldn't want you thinking about all this. He wouldn't want you suffering either.""But I can't help it." He said amidst tears, a sad look swallowing his brows. "I know he wouldn't want me to feel this way but it just hurts whenever I remember it.""I understand, grandfather. You know I used to feel this way about my mother. I hated that she had to leave. But later, I realized she left
