The morning's dawn came quicker than expected. The yellow sun was positioned perfectly in the sky, and was shining straight into Juliet's bedroom. She stirred in bed softly as the almost blinding light shone on her face. Her eyes fluttered open reluctantly, and she was immediately conscious of her environment. Her eyes met the hands of the clock just on the cabinet and she sprang out of bed at once."Oh my God! I'm going to be late." She tied her hair in to a messy bun and walked to her wardrobe. She took out some clothes and threw them on the bed."What's happening?" Mary said softly and sleepily. She sat up and stretched a bit. "Good morning.""Good morning." Juliet replied with looking at her. Then, she went in to the bathroom. Mary sighed, feeling put off by her behavior. After a few minutes, Juliet walked out of the bathroom, a towel tied lightly across her chest."Are you okay?" Mary asked immediately, her voice was filled with concern. Juliet glanced at her without saying a wor
Juliet looked at him, confused at first. She looked down at the papers in front of her, without giving him a reply. Robert waited for a moment, wondering what was going through her mind. "Are you angry at me, Juliet?" Robert said, feeling slightly guilty for having a relationship with Olivia. "If it's about Olivia, then...""It's not angry at you, sir." She replied sharply, an edge of rudeness in her voice. "These papers came in just moments ago and I'm afraid that somebody is trying to sell off one of your companies.""What do you mean?" Robert's brows rose, his initial purpose of talking to Juliet disappeared. "No one can sell my company without my approval. Or whatever." He picked one of the papers immediately."I think the person has already sold it. Apparently, he lied about the company's ownership and provided fake documents to the buyers. Because that is the only way he or she could have pulled this off.""What company is that? And who sent this?" "The textile company. The ma
"And what is that supposed to mean?" Jin asked in confusion, rising from his seat."My name is Robert William. And I am the owner of that company.""What I know is that you used to be the owner of the company. Didn't you sell it to Mr Lotta?" "Who is Lotta?" Robert asked immediately, almost unable to believe his ears. He didn't know any Lotta and he had never done business with him."Frederick Lotta." Jin said at once. Robert's eyes squinted as he heard the name, Frederick. "May I know who this Mr Frederick is? And where he lives. You might want to come with me to meet him. The cops are downstairs." "To meet him? Why? I have no more business with him. And I have the documents to the factory. I do not want cops on my vicinity either." Jin said defensively, collapsing in his seat once more."And I can assure you that the documents are fake. Only I, have the documents to that factory. Me Lotta scammed you. And the cops aren't posing any harm. So you don't have to worry about anything.
It was almost time to go home. She had arranged her desk for the next day's work already. Just sitting with one of her legs crossed over the other, she breathed in deeply. The relieving feeling it gave her brought Robert to mind."Why did he want to have lunch all of a sudden?" She asked herself, but was unable to provide her question with an accurate answer. For all she knew, Robert was in love with Olivia and was in a relationship with her. She sighed once more, a part of her hoping that Robert would be hers, even she knew it couldn't be forced. She leaned towards her desk and peered down at her phone screen. "Finally!" She exclaimed in a whisper, and got to her feet. She took her phone and bag, and made for the elevator. Just as she reached to press the elevator button, it dinged. She gasped and took a few steps back, her heart thumping at the thought of meeting Robert face to face."Hi." Robert said with a smile as he walked out of the elevator and towards her. It all seemed so cl
The atmosphere was awkward and tense for few minutes after Hailey left."She'll think what she said before is true, Robert. This isn't good." Juliet panicked, moving to and fro."That what?" Robert inquired."That we are having an affair. She's going to...""And why does that matter?" Robert interrupted, getting a hold of her hand before she could move again. Juliet looked at him, lost in the glitter of his eyes. "That wouldn't be a problem because you are not my secretary anymore. And if she tries to push it, then I will personally have her fired.""I haven't even accepted your offer yet, and you're already saying that I am no longer your secretary." She smiled suddenly, filling Robert with gladness."Oh please, accept my offer." He said in a funny tone."Alright, alright. But you won't fire her, okay?""If she behaves herself, that is.""She will. I'll just speak to her later." She took a deep breath, staring right in to his eyes. She got closer to him and put her arms lightly over
"So, what is going on with the investigation, officer?" He asked in a calm and focused tone. He was in the police chief's office once more. The place was still very much the same as when Robert came with his grandfather some time ago."You mean Mr Mendev?" Officer McDave sighed, his eyes pinned to the table as he took a pen in his hand. From the way he acted, Robert suspected that the investigation had gone cold."Yes. Him. I haven't heard anything about it since the interview. Not even on the news.""Well sir, it has not been easy. In all my years of service in the police force, I've never had a case this difficult. At the scene of the crime, there wasn't a single foreign fingerprint that could hint at somebody. The murder weapon was nowhere to be found as well, even when we know what kind of gun was used. It is just really frustrating. And the most annoying this of all is that Mr Mendev's body is missing." He sighed."Are you serious right now? How is that even possible? Do you know
Robert was surprised to see Olivia. And so was the police chief, because he hadn't yet ordered for her release. He was even more surprised as to how she got in to the office in such manner without being held back. Robert immediately got to his feet and faced her."It was all a mix up, Olivia. I apologize for the inconvenience. I was planning to...""Oh! Don't tell me of any silly plans. I don't want to hear it." She began walking towards Robert slowly. "You had the guts to do this to me. And you think you would just wave me off? You are unbelievable, Robert. You..." Just then, three police men rushed in and held her hands behind her."Who told you that you could come in here?" One of the officers asked in frustration."Let me go! Let me go!" She yelled, wiggling her body, trying to set free from them. But there was no way she could outpower three cops. "Let go of me.""I'm really sorry for the disturbance, sir. She asked to use the restroom, but came here instead." One of the officers
"What do you mean by he was not breathing anymore?" He asked, trying hard to stay composed. "My grandfather is not dead. He is not dead!""Yes sir." Raymond said in a very collected manner, turning both Robert and Martha's attention to himself. "Sir Jude isn't dead. The doctors are treating him right now and he will be fine.""Yes. Yes. He is fine." Robert took a deep breath, as he looked around for a seat. Just then, the sound of his ringing phone interrupted him. He drew it out immediately and wasn't surprised to see that it was Juliet calling. "Hi there." He said quickly, trying to hide the worry in his voice."Hi babe. I've been expecting you for a while now. Aren't you coming anymore? Are you okay?""I'm fine. It's nothing.""Robert." She said slowly, wondering what was going on with him. The jolly spark his voice usually came with wasn't there. She knew something was wrong. "What do you mean it's nothing? You don't sound fine. Robert, talk to me.""It's..." He paused and sighed.
