Chapter 157: Decline

"What do you mean by he was not breathing anymore?" He asked, trying hard to stay composed. "My grandfather is not dead. He is not dead!"

"Yes sir." Raymond said in a very collected manner, turning both Robert and Martha's attention to himself. "Sir Jude isn't dead. The doctors are treating him right now and he will be fine."

"Yes. Yes. He is fine." Robert took a deep breath, as he looked around for a seat. Just then, the sound of his ringing phone interrupted him. He drew it out immediately and wasn't surprised to see that it was Juliet calling. "Hi there." He said quickly, trying to hide the worry in his voice.

"Hi babe. I've been expecting you for a while now. Aren't you coming anymore? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. It's nothing."

"Robert." She said slowly, wondering what was going on with him. The jolly spark his voice usually came with wasn't there. She knew something was wrong. "What do you mean it's nothing? You don't sound fine. Robert, talk to me."

"It's..." He paused and sighed.
