"Hello sir." Raymond said desperately as the car drove out of the estate. "Sir Jude is coming back in. Please, keep the nurses on standby with the stretcher." Raymond had a disorganized look on his face as his eyes met Jude's smiling face. "I don't know what happened. He isn't responding to us, to any of our voices. That's the only thing I know.""Grandfather, are you there? Answer me." Robert was saying, with Jude's head on his lap. He kept calling Jude's name over and over but that didn't seem to be working."We are on our way now." Raymond concluded and set down the phone. "They are getting everything ready now, sir."Robert nodded, without looking up. His eyes were pinned on Jude. Martha sat in the front seat of the car, sobbing silently as they went. She was distraught, and kept hoping that Jude was okay."What is wrong with you? Drive faster." Robert shouted at the driver, who was already going as fast as he could. The journey was a long, scary one even if it did not last fiftee
The doctor seemed too touched to say it again, for the people who were receiving the news were literally broken by the news. He just shook his head slowly and sighed. Martha was already weeping very badly. Her eyes were gradually getting swollen. While Raymond could not believe his ears, so he refused letting the doctor go."I don't understand, sir. What do you mean by that? Please tell me it isn't what I'm thinking.""I'm really sorry, sir. But Sir Jude was dead when he arrived. It was hard to break it to you, but I had to. Please, excuse me." With that, he walked away. All the personnel who were in the ward with him began walking out, all their heads down to the floor as they passed. Tears formed in Raymond's eyes as he saw them walk by. A part of him was formerly hoping that it was not true, but now he knew that it was. He located a seat and sat in it as he took a deep breath. He raised his face up and saw Robert who was sitting on an opposite seat.Robert's face was as hard as sto
As Juliet came in to the hospital, the first person she was was Raymond. She rushed towards him, already with the question on her lips. But before she could get to him, she saw Robert. He was coming from a kind of closed hallway."Babe." She called out as she rushed to him. "Are you okay?" She asked, cupping her hands around his face. "Where is sir Jude? Where is grandpa? Is he doing fine? Take me to his room, please.""Hey." He said coldly, and right then, she noticed his eyes. He looked okay, but at the same time, he didn't look okay."What's wrong, honey? You don't look to good. Is anything the issue?"He shook his head softly and wore a dry smile. Juliet seemed confused. She looked around the place, and that was when she saw Martha crying. Suddenly, she knew what had happened but she didn't want to believe it. "No, no, no." She said in a low tone as her voice got very shaky. "Don't tell me. Don't tell me that he is...""Dead. My grandfather is dead." Robert replied. She slowly pu
The atmosphere was sad and just as dark as the clothes they all wore. A priest stood there, carrying out the proceedings for the ceremony. It was the burial ceremony of Mr Jude William. Robert had decided to do the ceremony just two days after he passed. And that surprised Raymond a lot. Robert had a black suit on and by his side was Juliet. She had black shades on, perfectly complimenting the black dress she had on.When the body was about to be lowered in to the ground, Robert noticed two cars at the far side of the cemetery. And in front of the cars, Francisco stood with someone Robert thought was familiar. He looked on and finally noticed that it was Mr David, the man who had asked him to join the Trendtones. He immediately looked away since he did not want to be noticed."What is it, honey?" Juliet whispered to him when she noticed that he was looking at a particular location. She looked to see what he had been so engrossed in, but she only saw two black cars."It's nothing." He
Michael sat at the driver's seat of the car, watching the whole ceremony through the tinted glass. Sophia sat beside him, looking from one side to the other. She seemed extremely nervous and hated the fact that they were at the burial grounds."Let's go already, babe. I don't like it here. What if someone sees us?""Oh, calm down. Nobody is going to notice us here. The glass is tinted and I took the serial plate down. Nobody is going to know that we are the ones here." He smiled and tried to make her see reason with him."What really are we doing here?" Olivia asked from the back seat. Her hands were folded and she had a light frown on her face. "We shouldn't even be here.""Nobody forced you to come down here with us, missy. If you didn't want to come then you should have stayed back at your house. After all, you should be on one of those your shows.""Calm down, dear." He caressed Sophia's thighs softly. "And we will soon be on our way, Olivia. I just want to see what really is goin
Robert didn't sleep back at the house like he used to when Jude was alive. To him, the house was now empty and that was not something he enjoyed. So, he spent most nights with Juliet at her home. At first, he thought Mary would be a problem, noting that she didn't like him from the very onset. He worried that she him being in her face most of the time would make her angry. But was not the case. Of course, Mary still did not like him. But they house was big enough to contain the both of them. Mary was always in her room, except she was at work. Juliet would go to her room any time she was home to hang her with her, and to bring her food as well. It had gradually turned in to a routine which allowed the both of them to strengthen their bond.Getting the estate was one of the best decisions Juliet made, asides opening herself up to be loved by a man like Robert. This way, her lovely man and her precious sister had their own space and weren't up in each other's faces.Robert, on the other
On the day of the burial ceremony, Liam was unable to attend because he was not informed in time, so he was away for a business trip that very day. But immediately he got back, he visited Robert and sympathized with him. They had patched up their sketchy friendship. And they now understood each other in a higher level. Robert was able to talk Juliet in to letting go of her grudge against his best friend, although they didn't actively speak to each other. Only "hi's and Hello's" when ever they were in the same space. For Robert, that was more than enough seeing that Juliet never wanted to set eyes on him initially. For the past few months leading up to the week Jude passed, the entire businesses under him were doing absolutely nothing well. He had even stopped going to the office frequently, and would only go there occasionally for urgent matters and checks. But after Jude passed, he felt the underlying need to work harder and make him proud. Juliet had told him that it was just his o
Robert had a crack in his heart, had from it spilled out emotions that he desperately tried to hide as best as he could. His grandfather's death has left a scar in his heart. A scare he desperately needed to close. He was in the old man's room. He had been at home all day staring at his Grandfather's photo hanging, slightly crooked on the wall."I guess you finally left" he said to the picture as though it could speak back to him and tell him that he should not cry and regret so much what had happened. His tears could not possibly turn back the wheels of time to go change anything. As if that exactly was what he heard from the picture, he stood up all of a sudden. His feet pressed hard against the floor."I will not stay here and mourn" he immediately said. "Grandfather, you would not want me to do this. Whether or not you were alive. You would tell me to grab life by its collar and ride it to eternity." His eyes were fixed on the picture now. The old man's picture also seemed to st
