Roseline's eyes narrowed as she stared at the officer, not wanting to understand what he was saying. On the other hand, Richard smiled casually, looking at all three officers, perplex evidently shone in his eyes."What do you mean, officer? We'd actually like to post bail for her release with immediate effect." He spoke immediately, putting his hand over his wife's shoulder."I'm sorry, sir. But your daughter can't leave till tomorrow morning." The officer responded, settling back on his seat."I don't understand, sir. She can't leave till tomorrow, why?" Roseline finally spoke after gathering her words. Her eyes twitched as she stared at the officer."We are really sorry ma. But that was the order we received. Your daughter can't leave the station till tomorrow." The officer repeated, not missing a word he has said before. He could tell that they were both surprised and disappointed but he was working based on the instructions he had received."Who gave such other, officer? Who? And
He quickly got in the shower to freshen up before heading out. He really did miss Raymond being around, ready to help him with anything he wanted. The house was extremely quiet, with the maids going on with their normal duties, silently. Raymond was really the one who made the house seem alive. Robert hoped earnestly that he was doing just fine at the hospital and felt indebted to him for saving his grandfather's life. He went to see how his grandfather was doing that morning. As he walked down the hallway, he remembered the first day he has stepped foot in the mansion and how Raymond had shown him around gracefully. He could never forget such kind gestures and promised in his heart, to reward him. Soon he was at the door of his Grandfather's room. He knocked once and waited for a response but heard nothing, so he pushed the door slowly open and went in. The room was quiet and neat, serene and peaceful. And right on the bed was Jude. He appeared to be sleeping but Robert's mind, he fe
"Wow!" Robert exclaimed loudly. Jude laughed amused by his exclamation. "Are you serious, grandfather? That is so amazing." He stood up, clapping happily as he walked around the room. Jude's eyes didn't come off him as he walked about. Robert's enthusiasm reminded him so much of his late son, Pierce. And that convinced him further that Robert was the right man for the job."You remind me so much of your father, my boy. And I know you will make proud just as he did. I know you'll do even greater works than he did." Robert smiled, not knowing what to say. He nodded and finally mouthed the words "thank you"."I am grateful for all your support, grandfather. But is there anything you have to say to me now? Because I think we should be on our way to visit Raymond.""Oh, yes. That's true. There isn't anything else, my child. I'll get ready quickly." Jude said, getting out of bed as Robert walked out."See you in a bit, grandfather." Robert replied as he waltzed out of the room. He thought a
Mrs Richard was almost unable to sleep that night. Her daughter has asked her to get some rest at home but what she got was the exact opposite of that. She was worried, troubled and could not being herself to close her ears in a peaceful sleep. That morning, she got up extremely early, waking her husband up as well to get ready. And in no time, they left for the station. But things didn't go the way she had planned because when they arrived at the station, there was a little riot outside and that stopped them from bailing their child immediately. When the riot was sorted, Roseline rushed into the building, greeting the officers hurriedly as she walked past them, to go see her daughter."Good morning, my darling." Roseline said eagerly, her voice shaking as she spoke. "You're here so early, mom. Did you even get any sleep?" Roseline asked, noting her mother's large eye bags."Don't worry about me, dear. How are you doing this morning? We're about signing the documents for your bail, a
With that, Michael walked out of the cell, swiftly moving back home. It had taken him a lot of self control to not hit Sophia, so much self control that even him, couldn't fathom. But as he walked out, it began to feel like the anger was swelling up inside of him. It began to feel like of he didn't unwind soon, he would explode. Quickly, he rushed in to an empty alley and screamed out loud, punching against the wall severally, until he bled. He stopped suddenly, breathing heavily as he calmed down. He felt significantly better as he wiped off the blood on his shirt and proceeded out of the alley, where he took a cab.Sophia, on the other hand was still at the police station. Her mother holding her as she was led to the car. She was sulking terribly as she thought about her exchange with Michael just moments ago. She swelled in anger, as she settled in the back seat of the car. Her mother rubbing her back gently, as if pacifying her. She felt angry, her ears could almost smoke out fire
Raymond, Robert and his grandfather, Jude left the hospital later that day. The doctor had discharged Raymond since he suffered no major injuries. He had sustained only a few scratches and cuts which had been duly tended. And he was significantly better than the day before, almost fine. They were in the car, on their way home. It was getting late, at that point. The sky was transitioning from the dim orange colour that it was, to a light neon colour. Yet, again another beautiful scenery. Robert was very much appreciative of nature and it's aesthetic existence. It made him think of the aesthetics of his being."Once again Raymond, thank you. You don't know how grateful I am to you for what you did for my grandfather. Do well to give me your details when we arrive at the mansion so I can fulfil my promise." Robert said once more, in the car. All the gratitude Raymond was receiving made him feel jumpy because he didn't know how exactly to react to it."You don't have to mention it again,
He smiled wholely, his dentition sparkling brightly. His smile lit up his whole face, as his eyes squinted cutely, making them look smaller than they actually were. His features were perfectly highlighted, giving view to the very handsome man that he was. Robert was happy, genuinely happy. All the anxiety and nervousness he had felt not long ago vanished into thin air. At that point, he felt confident and comfortable, even. Jude was one happy pill. He knew exactly what to do to light up the atmosphere and release tension. From his joyful laughter which went on and on, it was evident that he had achieved his goal - making Robert feel less tense. The idea had come to Jude very early that morning and immediately, he called Hailey, asking her for a simple decor at the office and a cake for a small office celebration. She was happy to do another job for the Williams and accepted it wholeheartedly, all without Robert's knowledge."Thank you so much, everyone." Robert started, his face lit b
Meanwhile, Sophia was at home that morning, merely able to lift herself from her bed. To her, everything just seemed extremely overwhelming and overbearing. She stirred in her bed from side to side, one would think it was due to her not being comfortable but her problems were far from that. After what happened at the party and the time she spent in the prison cell, she could not stop thinking about Robert. It was like her eyes had been opened after a long time with a thick blindfold on. She lay lazily in bed, staring at her ceiling as she reminisced old times with Robert when it was just the two of them. All she could see was a man who tried his best to please her all the time, someone who cared for her and her wellbeing in general. She sighed as she wondered how she became so blind to all his efforts. Immediately, Michael came to her mind. His rude and ignorant ways played like a movie in her mind. She hissed in despise at the thoughts of Michael, embracing her thoughts of Robert onc
