Her eyes were still on Robert, steady and sad till the elevator door shut close. Robert stood there for a moment, resting against the secretary's supposed table as he thought about all that had just happened. Sophia thought that her words would make him change his mind and take her back, which he felt was stupid of her. He sighed gently as he made his way into the elevator as well. He was no longer pressed and so didn't need the restroom anymore. He just wanted to go home and rest his head. The elevator door opened up on the floor where Jude and the employees were. He had a sad look on his face, obviously downcast. He walked back to his seat, settling beside Jude who had noticed the drastic change in his demeanor."What is wrong, my child? You took some time up there. Did anything go wrong?" Jude asked, trying to know what had him in such a mood. He sighed as he relaxed fully on the chair."Her. Sophia. She came again. But she's gone now." He said, shutting his eyes as he faced the c
The bed in Robert's room waited patiently and longingly for Robert to return. And as he got to his room, he collapsed carelessly into it, relaxing his whole being and letting go of the stress he felt. He already had a lot on his mind regarding his duties at work and Sophia came to make it worse. Robert sighed as he remembered how anxious he had been when the day began and how great it turned out before her unwanted presence. But he was glad that she left without any struggle, concluding that she had accepted everything he had said to her. Sophia was not one to just leave, so that assured him that she would not be back. He lay in bed, his face to the ceiling as he wondered how the meeting scheduled for the next day would be. With a clouded and tired mind, it didn't take him long to fall into a deep sleep. The next day started beautifully as always. Robert got up feeling suddenly confident that morning. He smiled as he watched the view from his window and prepared for his meeting. He fe
"Oh! Hi there, Robert. How are you doing?" Sophia asked casually. Sitting gallantly close to Robert, one leg on top of the other. Robert's eyes never left her face as she performed whatever she was performing in front of the associates."What are you doing here, Sophia?" He asked again, trying to be as calm as possible. He could see the confusion on each of the associates' faces. They didn't know what was going on. Sophia sat comfortably, her cheeks blushing in the white, bright light. Her outfit ensemble was wonderful. Her grey suit looked perfect on her. She looked like the typical boss lady."Am I late for the meeting? I'm sorry about it. I just got caught up with something so I had to hurry down here. I suppose I am not too late, am I?" She smiled brightly, her dentition flashing neatly as she looked around. Robert was stunned as he watched her. What does she mean by she isn't too late? He thought in his mind. He knew she was not one of the associates but he never thought that she
As they led her out, her voice echoed through the hallway, screaming non-stop. Once outside, she was thrown to the ground."Please leave and do not return," Raymond said as she tried to get up. She grunted in frustration as he picked up her broken shoes."Who do you think you are, huh? Do I look like a common butler like you are? Get out!" She screamed as she threw the shoe at him. Raymond decked just in time as he moved back. Seeing that that didn't work, she rushed at him, grabbing his suit by his collar. Immediately, the guards rushed at her, holding her back as she struggled to set free. "Let me go, you overgrown huskies. Let go of me!" One of the guards pushed her away, directly for the road. She looked at them in anger and turned to her car. "I hate you both." She shouted in frustration as she got into the car and slammed the door hard behind her. She sped off almost immediately, a trail of exhaust smoke filling the air.As she drove home, an array of thoughts flooded her mind.
Robert sighed in relief as the meeting came to an end with all the associates leaving. The meeting was successful, extremely successful despite the stunt Sophia pulled there and he was glad about it. He sat back in his seat, thinking about everything for a moment. Just then, Raymond walked in."Are you okay, sir?" He asked in concern, seeing the way he was laid back in his seat. He looked up at Raymond and sighed, then laid back again."I'm just surprised the meeting was an absolute success even with what Sophia did. I woke up this morning feeling very confident about everything, but somehow she almost ruined it all for me." He said calmly."But did she succeed? Now, that's the important thing. She didn't succeed with her plan, whatever it was. And why was it successful? You. You made this all possible, so do not think about it." Raymond said encouragingly as he waited on Robert."Yes. You are right. Right. Let's go. I need to get some rest. It's been a long day." He said as he stood
The next day, Robert got ready for his appointment with the head of the communication company, Mr Wright. He left quite late that morning, with an extra car filled with bodyguards. Indeed, he wasn't joking about the issue with Sophia. He knew for a fact that she would show up at his supposed meeting venue and thought of ways to find out who had been giving her information. As they arrived at Wright's Communication Company, Mr Wright and a few other staff were outside to welcome him."Good morning, Mr William. It is nice to have you." Mr Wright said as he extended his hand for a handshake."Thank you very much for having me, Mr Wright." He said as he shook hands with Mr Wright and all his staff who awaited."Let's go in and sit. You can have something to eat or drink if you want. Then we can get down to the business of the day." Mr Wright offered as they walked into the building. The building was an enormous one, with lots of state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment. Robert was im
The guards took her away from the premises, away from Robert and threw her by the road side. She looked absolutely miserable as she sat there crying. She had been in her room sulking, as usual when her informant called and had left immediately after without doing anything. Robert, on the other hand got into his car and zoomed off without looking at her, even for once. She watched his car pass right in front of her with tears in her eyes. She couldn't blame herself for leaving Robert, even when she knew that she was at fault. She regretted going through with the divorce, as it was right before he discovered his fortune. With dried tears on her face, she stood up and clenched her fists in rage. The anger she felt was one of a great force and devilish intent. Before that time, she was willing to go through anything for him to take her back but she had never been so humiliated, like what had just happened that morning. She boiled in anger, her being bubbling with hate for the man she had
Robert sat in his car, having mixed feelings about what had happened. He felt he had gone to far but was also glad that he had given her a taste of her own medicine. He was one with so much compassion and humanity, he felt a bit guilty about what happened."Welcome home, young master. How was your meeting?" Raymond asked as soon as he alighted from the car. He smiled, seeing the number of guards Robert had taken this time around. "You finally took your grandfather's advice and took a lot of security, I see. I'm pretty sure it came in handy." "Yes, yes, Raymond. It came in great handy today. And you didn't even let me answer your question. Where is grandfather, by the way. I haven't seen him all day." Robert asked, walking into his mansion. He sat on the couch in the balcony, relaxing his whole body in it."Sir is okay. He came down for breakfast some time ago but he went back to his room. He should be there as we speak." Robert was standing by the couch, his head high."Alright then.
