Humming the tune of his favorite song, Nicolas approaches the door step of their apartment. A little place they call home . Small but cozy . This is a place that is filled with love and affection from them . The size doesn’t matter, all that matters is a place they call home . This is the only building he can currently afford even after working four different jobs he could only afford a small apartment in a poor part of the city .

But Nicolas was still content and happy as long as he had Clara by his side . Clara, his fiancée, was a beautiful charming young lady with deep blue eyes . Her eyes are one of the things Nicolas loves the most about her but overall he fell in love with her kind and charming personality.

They planned to get married in a month's time . Nicolas can’t believe how lucky he is to have someone like Clara by his side .

Arriving at the door card Nicolas couldn’t help but notice the limited edition of a red sports car parked at the front of their apartment.

“Looks like we have a visitor “ he thought in his mind . But who could that be ? He sure doesn’t know any rich person who could afford a car that cost seven million dollars.

Trying the door knob he was shocked to see the door locked . This came a bit surprising considering Clara should be done with her shift for today .

After trying his key the lock came up . Pushing the door and walking in he was shocked to see the sight before him .

He can’t believe his beloved Clara will be so heartless to cheat on him . She even brought the man to their home, the house he worked hard in other to be able to afford the bills .

“Clara, what's going on here ? Who is the man here ? What’s happening? Nicolas demands still in denial at the scene in front of him . He couldn’t believe what he just witnessed.

“Oh why are you back early you aren’t supposed to be back this early. What a piece of trash . You stink of dirth “ came Clara’s cold reply .

Shocked at her reply and the tone of her voice Nicolas eyes turned bloodshot red he couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed. He just got back from his fourth job which required him to take care of the trash at Lewis hotel . That explains the odor .It is indeed that he came back earlier than he usually does . He did so in order to surprise her, seeing that today will mark their two year’s anniversary. His ears couldn’t believe her question. It’s their anniversary for goodness sake. He planned on taking a shower and preparing a surprise dinner for Clara .This is supposed to be a day of celebration of their love . He had planned a lot of activities for them to engage in tonight . He even painted a portrait of her which he intended to surprise her with .

“Clara what has gotten into ? Is it our anniversary, don't you remember? “ At this point Nicolas is at the verge of crying . The betrayal and the lack of remorse is enough to make him feel ten times worse . Nicolas is yet to accept the truth and reality. He is still in denial .

“Listen I’m tired of being seen around with a poor man like you. I feel so ashamed when I’m with you . A man who could not even afford all the luxury a woman like me deserves . I’m sick and tired of being around someone like you . You stink of poverty. I rather be with someone who can take care of me not a loser like you . All you will ever be is a loser that’s why your mother left you and so did your father . You are nothing but a pathetic loser. Here’s the twenty dollar ring you gave me. I don't need it, you must be delusional to think I will ever marry someone like you, “ Clara said without showing any form of remorse .

“ Clara, are you out of your mind ? What is woe with you? Don’t you feel ashamed where your dignity is for goodness sake?” Shouted Nicolas. He is still shocked at Clara’s audacity.

“ The truth hurts doesn’t it ? And the truth is that you are nothing but a loser “ she said while dropping the ring he gave her on the cool hard floor . She got up and left the house leaving Nicolas in a dejected and broken place .

Nicolas guesses being correct she existed in the neighborhood with the man he caught her cheating with. Even the expensive red car belongs to him .

Maybe she’s right ? I’m such a loser that no one wants to be with, not even my parents thought Nicolas.

Every inch of the apartment remained him of her and the wonderful memories they shared . Seems like he is the only one who cherishes those memories. He still couldn’t believe that Clara would betray him without feeling guilty.

He does four different jobs just to make sure she’s happy . He tried any type of job he could get . Day and night putting himself at risk by going on errands in the most dangerous part of the city . Countless times he has sustained various injuries and fractures . But he kept on pushing hard for Clara . All he wants is to give her the life she deserves and the life he never had .Day and night the thoughts of how to make her happy feels in Nicolas ' heart .
