83. The Threat.

Back at the police station, when Lauren said he cheated on her with Shantel, hearing he name brought back memories, warm memories from Jason's high school days.

Back in those days, Jason was as poor and being poor could be. The orphanage where he grew up managed to pay his tuition fees until he turned eighteen, so after that time he was left to fend for himself.

He engaged in different menial jobs, delivery boy, dog walker, even mowing people's lawn… anything that could fetch him money. Then he met Shantel.

Her parents weren't millionaires but they were wealthy enough, and out of the allowance she got, she would buy things for him. The two were really close that even other people thought they were a couple. And who knows, maybe they might have been… if he had never met Lauren.
