"How do you explain us ending up in the same room, on the same bed, tangled together?" she questioned, her voice laced with uncertainty.

"I do remember one thing clearly," Emily interjected, her voice tinged with certainty. "When we arrived at the hotel, you booked two rooms."

Caleb took a deep breath, his gaze unwavering as he addressed Emily.

"So you do recall us checking into the hotel, don't you?" he asked softly, a hint of concern in his tone.

Emily nodded slowly, her brow furrowing in concentration as she recalled the events leading up to their arrival at the hotel.

"Yes, I remember," Emily confirmed with a nod.

"First, we went to the police station, and then... it was late, and there were no taxis available. I was exhausted, and that's when you suggested booking a room for the night at a hotel across the road from the police station... that's correct, isn't it?"
