The taxi driver furrowed his brow, concern etched across his face as he stole glances at William's bloodied and swollen face through the rear-view mirror.

"Son, are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital? You look like you've been through a rough time," the driver remarked with genuine worry.

William sighed, growing frustrated with the persistent concern for his well-being. He met the driver's eyes in the mirror, determined to downplay the severity of his injuries.

"I appreciate the concern, but trust me, these injuries aren't as bad as they look. No need for the hospital. Just take me to Maximus rental store," he insisted, redirecting the focus away from his battered appearance.

William wiped away a trickle of blood running down the side of his face, emanating from an unseen wound on his head. The taxi driver let out a disapproving sigh, shaking his head in response to William's insistence that the injuries were minor.
