"What? Why? I mean why will I even do that? You are the president of all these companies. You can't be the manager of TriggerHub," Sophia protested softly.

Derek shook his head briefly. "I need to know what is really happening with TriggerHub."

"If that's going to happen, then you could summon the manager and find that out."

"Well, haven't you tried that? How has that helped so far? Just why didn't you just fire all the workers there?"

"Well," she hesitated. "It was the first company that your father would establish and in fact, most of the workers there are the first," she explained.

"What!" He exclaimed with shock. "You mean TriggerHub has been there for ten years? And it's still the one with the lowest net worth and on the verge of going under?"

"I'm so sorry, Boss," Sophia said quickly. "I have been so occupied with managing Aircastle because it's the capital. And I've done my help with other three companies but TriggerHub just wants to prove very difficult," she explained.

Benson gathered his brows amazingly. "A mask? A diamond mask? Why?"Derek looked at him. "I have a plan. Just get me what I want."Benson released a sigh. "I'm afraid that might be a bit difficult. Besides, there's barely any diamond mask in Orange Park. Only two are here and aside from the fact that it's very expensive, it's not easy to retrieve.""Who owns it?""Mathias. He is not really an acquaintance and very expensive," he explained."It doesn't matter. Get across to him. I will pay any amount. It's for the greater good anyways," he darted at the watch. We have just less than two hours. The mask needs to get to me in less than an hour," he ordered.Benson bowed slightly. "I will be on my way now. I will contact you after it has been settled," he assured and walked out.Derek looked at Thomas. "I want to have everything that you can get your hand on concerning Clare. I want it before Benson will come back."Thomas bowed once. "Can I make use of your laptop?"Derek nodded once. "S

It was at this moment that everyone was looking at Derek and wondering who he was, coming to the auction in a diamond mask like Clara and even challenging her. Clara craned her neck towards Derek for a moment. Derek couldn't see her facial expression but he knew she silently just warned him. She turned towards the auctioneer again. "One thousand and two hundred dollars," she said suddenly. Derek smiled slightly. "One thousand, two hundred and ten dollars." "Boss!" Herbert and Benson muttered at the same time, shock vivid on their faces. Derek was breaking the rules. Clara hesitated for a moment as if thinking about the whole thing. She chuckled silently. "One thousand and four hundred dollars." "Wow! Anyone else?" The auctioneer announced happily. Derek didn't respond. "Alright. The ticket goes to_" "Two thousand dollars!" Derek announced suddenly. "Alright boss, I will do_," Benson was interrupted rudely by a sudden thud against the car. There was a woman crying by the driver's side. "Fuck," Benson cursed under his breath and started the ignition. Derek looked at him for a moment, "Stop the car," he ordered. Benson reluctantly did. "Boss." Derek looked at the woman for a while. The windows of the car were tinted, so it was easy for them to see everything happening outside the car but that won't be the same for women. "Do you know the woman?" Benson went quiet. "Do you, Ben?" He asked in a thick voice that emanated authority. "I do," Benson responded in a low voice. "Who is she?" He shook his head briefly. "Let her in." Benson looked at Derek quickly. "No, you can't do that." "Why not?" "You won't be able to help her." Derek ignored his remark. "Let her in," he repeated. Thomas got out of the car and moved over to the driver's side. He murmured some inaudibles to the woman before they both moved to the back seat.

"What happened?" "Some women saw her being dragged away. They said it was Frederick and they were sure about it. But the majority of them were afraid of saying much," Thomas explained. Derek thought about it for a moment. "Then we will have to rescue her. That means I will be speaking with Ben after all. If he doesn't agree with this, then he's going to find himself another Boss," he muttered thickly and pulled off the mask. "Let's go." "You should get down then so that I can at least drive us home." Derek hesitated for a moment as if just realising it. He smiled softly. "Alright, no problem," he got down and they exchanged seats. "Can I ask you a question, boss?" Thomas said suddenly as he pulled out into the street. "Sure," he muttered from the back seat. "May I ask what your mission really is and why you haven't revealed yourself to the business world or as the new mafia lord? I got really skeptical these days and I realized that I didn't even know much about you and then, vi

Victor nodded once and started pulling it off. Derek was watching him, with a lot of things going on in his mind. If Victor ended up removing the mask and Clara didn't, they would all be back to square one. Though, it wouldn't really mean anything since Clara wouldn't know who the real Peter Pan is. Victor pulled off the mask eventually and looked at Clara. "I'm waiting." Clara hesitated as if closely studying Victor before she pulled off her mask as well. Derek stared at a beautiful lady with blue eyes. She had this teasing smile on her face. He bowed quickly just as her gaze moved towards him. "Oh, the new Peter Pan is quite good-looking," she muttered and moved closer to Victor, too close for comfort. Derek sensed what she wanted to do. She was trying to know if he scented like him. Derek remembered not to wear any cologne so it wouldn't confuse her. Victor was the only one scenting like Derek at that moment. She shocked the two men when she embraced Victor as she did with De

"No!" Derek yelled. "Thomas, drive faster! He mustn't die! He mustn't!" He yelled. Thomas nodded once and increased the speed. Everyone's heart was in their stomach as the car pulled into the nearest hospital. Thomas rushed out of the car, without parking very well, and pulled the passenger's door open. He took Victor and rushed inside. Derek followed after him but Benson stopped him. "Boss, you have to calm down." Derek looked at him. "Victor is unconscious and you want me to calm down?" Benson sighed. "Well, you barely know him. Besides, he's going to get better. At least, we are in the hospital now. You are a mafia boss and you must act like one." Derek regarded him for a moment as if he couldn't believe the words coming out of his mouth. "I want to have every detail about Myra's daughter, Elsie today." "Boss_," Benson started but Derek cut in quickly. "It is_," Derek stressed in a deep voice. "It is an order, Ben. I don't need your contribution. You dare go against the maf

Derek zoomed off. He couldn't believe who he was looking at. Clara in TriggerHub! Unbelievable! It wasn't possible! How could that be? The lady walked closer to Derek. "You must be the new manager, I have been expecting you. I am Maribel, the secretary," she introduced. Derek blinked once, then twice. A lot of thoughts muddled in his mind in some sort of crazy confusion. There was no fucking way why there would be two Clara in town. But why would Clara be working in his company? Well, wasn't that why she uses a mask? So that she would be free to be anywhere she likes without being questioned. But could Benson be correct? Could Clara be after him? Maribel watched his expression for a moment. "You must be thirsty, I will get you coffee. Then, show you to your office," she said and hurried towards the coffee machine even before Derek would stop him. He had a feeling of Deja Vu instantly. "Here boss," Maribel returned with a cup of coffee. Derek stared down at the coffee for a m

"B_boss," Max stammered. "I've heard a lot about the way you treat managers at TriggerHub. At first, I didn't want to believe it. So, I made a plan with the new manager that I appointed." "Boss, I'm so sorry." "Hey!" Derek snapped. "I'm not done talking. The police will be on their way soon and you will be arrested if you don't make amends with the new manager. And he's the only one that can restore your position in that company because you have been fired by me already," he muttered. "I will do that, boss. Please, don't be annoyed." "And listen to me! He will be my ears and eyes in that company. If you try anything funny with him, you will reap the consequences," he warned. "Yes boss," Max responded quickly. "Mr. Miller has spoken and I will take it up," Sophia said quickly. "I will be monitoring the company with the new manager. If anything goes up, I will be there. So, be very careful." "Yes ma'am." Max released a breath that he didn't even know he was holding. He didn't ex

"Thanks for the surprise, darling. I really enjoyed it, and I look forward to more of this in the future!" He pressed a kiss to her forehead. Sophia blushed hard, getting into the car beside him."My dad will be returning to HC Central Hospital tomorrow, he's willing to go check out how your mother is faring." • Chapter 164: The Cue

"Now!" Benson signalled his men, and they burst through the gates, opening fire on each and every thing on their way! Morris' men were very taken aback. They would require time to get into formation for defense. Before then, Benson reckoned they would have wiped out. But to his chagrin, they didn't take too long to adapt. Only a few got injured while the rest got into hiding and started exchanging fire. More men started to pour in from the mansion to join the assault, and soon Morris' men were overpowering Benson and his team that they had to retreat back outside the gates. "Where the fuck is Jack and his men, aren't they supposed to be attacking them from behind? The pressure on us is getting worse!" Benson yelled, moving to the foremost and targeting the leader of Morris' men. In his anger, he almost forgot to take cover and a bullet grazed past his arm, almost hitting him. "Be careful, Boss. If you get injured, who will lead us?" someone shouted from behind, but Benson was ad

The rage erupted in Derek's chest and he lunged for Morris, aiming at his neck. If Derek had caught him at that moment, he would have dug his throat with his fingers. That's how much hatred he had for Morris! But before he could get to Morris, several hands clamped down on him from behind, kicking him violently to the floor. Dominic was able to keep the little girl mute until they all jumped over the fence. "Are you a bad man? Why're you sneaking in, instead of using the front gate?" she asked innocently, not an ounce of fear in her eyes. "Because we're here to meet a friend, and we don't want to disturb the rest of the nun's dinner! Now, come with me." Dominic dragged her along with his men, pressing his hand against her lips.He couldn't risk alerting any other person at this point. They approached the Head Nun's garden, got in, and peeked into the room through the window. "We just have to climb in and abduct her from here. She'll probably still be observing her prayers while others are having dinner.""You go in first," he signaled to Thomas. "Make sure you land very quietly, when you see her, give us a signal and we'll join you!"Thomas nodded, and soon he disappeared into the room. We're celebrating together at that party!" Thomas said and left. Derek nodded, then turned to Benson. "Go in and start briefing the men, we have less than 3 hours left. No one is allowed to come in or leave the mansion without my permission from this moment on!""Yes, Boss." Benson bowed.Just as he left, Jack arrived, saluting Derek with respect. "After you guys attack. I'll try to protect Sophia while leading Morris on. A few of you would join me in attacking him then." Derek continued. "His men would be distracted by the sudden attack, I'll use that chance to get Sophia to safety.""What if struggle ensues between you and the person holding her hostage?" Benson asked an obvious question. "That will be in your hands, Benson. Immediately after leading your men in, locate Sophia first from a place of hiding. You should be able to kill the man holding her hostage with our special submachine gun." Derek rubbed his chin in thought. If the plan proceeded that way, this meant he was willing to place Sophia's safety in Benson's hands. Derek tried to push every thought of her getting hurt away. There was no other way they could approach it. He would be so busy with getting Morris down that he might not be able to look out properly for her. "I think that should be all?" Derek sat up.
