"I have never been so humiliated in my life!" Jacob Jackson thundered as he and his family barged into the house. He threw his coat onto the floor, his face red with anger and embarrassment.  The fact that they had gone to the ceremony in a beast limousine, and then had to return in a cab, had added more to the humiliation they had suffered at Jonathan’s hands.

"This wasn’t supposed to happen this way not after all the care we gave him, talk more of the support we showed him, your mother went to all lengths to make sure he got a job in that delivery company to show she cared, but he does this instead!" He continued his eyes red with anger and pain from the embarrassment.

Elina and her mother sat quietly on the couch, Patricia embittered dried up her tears whilst shaking her head in disbelief. Elina lost in thoughts, her mind occupied as to how the Hazel’s heir turned out to be Jonathan, the man whom she had just thrown out of her house not long.

She had never imagined it to be him remembering all the days she and her family had humiliated and taunted him having no money, and now he had that money, power and even fame to destroy people including her family just like few hours ago.

"The shame was too much, Mom! We can’t let him treat us the way he just treated us, we have to do something about it letting it go isn’t the best option per se." Elina said her voice shaky as she spoke.

"I’ll take my leave now", a tired voice said and stood up, and Elina looked at him and shook her head,

"You’d leave today and come back only to get punished by Jonathan later in the future, so choose either one you stay and we plan something together to avoid further embarrassment or you leave," she said to him angrily.

"I can’t take it, but there’s nothing we can do about it, babe! We are weaklings to the heir to the Hazel’s empire here, he doesn’t even regard us anymore, I don’t even have a deal with the Hazels anymore, at least you still have your jobs and properties with you so just let it be for today, and let’s do as he wishes babe please I’m begging you!" He said to Elina.

"I am not a weakling and I won’t let him insult or embarrass me more than he has done to my family today, you are just a coward." Elina retorted her voice having hints of pain in it.

"Do you babe! I am too tired for this, I’m off!" Nicholas said standing up from the three-seater couch looking haggard. He had fought with the guards and had been terribly beaten up, limping on his left leg he walked away.

He could only imagine what news will be flying around the following day considering his status, and how he had been humiliated in public by Jonathan.

After he left, the Jacksons all sat in silence for a few minutes.

Then Patricia spoke up,

"Honey, what do we do? Things aren’t going the way we wanted things to, a little mishap and we would have lost all our properties if that had happened we would have lost all the respect and fame we had spent years on. Jonathan is out for us what do we do?" her voice cracked but it was stern.

"I agree with you, something has to be done about Jonathan, we took much care of him to be treated in this regard!" Jacob replied his wife.

"Uhhhhhhhhhhh! Mom and Dad please be quiet, I need to think and you both are making it hard with your useless talk, you both saw what Jonathan was like today, he didn’t have that fearful look in his eyes instead we couldn’t dare look him in the eyes. He has changed and we all know it, he didn’t bat an eye pulling out of the partnership deal with Nicholas or embarrassing us in the presence of those dignitaries, what makes you think he won’t hesitate to seize our properties?" Elina scolded as she spoke.

"God!" Patricia exclaimed, "I didn’t expect so many misfortunes from the Hazel’s Forbes Initiative and my head hurts", she said holding her head in her hands.

Jacob stood up and paced, still fuming.

"You know what, I don’t care. We have to hit him hard the way he has hit us." Jacob stated.

"That’s it!" Elina exclaimed.

"The only way to get ourselves away from this mess and Jonathan’s domineering way is to find someone close to him who is willing to help us, then we will be able to go ahead with the plan I have formulated in my head," Elina said to her mum and dad.

"There’s nobody at the party who seemed close to him, I kept a close watch on him throughout before he left the party I had to make sure he wasn’t putting up a front to disguise himself as the heir when he wasn’t," Patricia said to her husband.

Jacob snickered and said "That’s a foolish assumption, my dear. It was very obvious he was the one, the suspense and all before he came out made it believable dear," he said as he left towards the dining table where the meal were being served by the maids.

"Let’s eat as we plan dear," Patricia said to her daughter.

She was exhausted from all of it but backing out wasn’t an option.

At the table, Elina picked at her food, her appetite gone and her mind in deep heavy thoughts on the lady who walked into the dinner party. She was pissed at the thought of Jonathan with any other woman that wasn’t her and stabbed her stake with rage.

"What’s wrong my dear? Is the food not to your taste?" Patricia asked Elina with concern written on her face.

"To think that Jonathan couldn’t even enter the Polo club or any club here without me or mentioning the name Jackson, I just can’t believe that Via Turkey was his date last night. He truly isn’t the Jonathan we knew, his being influential doesn’t mean we would sit back and watch him ruin our years of hard work or make us more pitiful than we are now." Elina said angrily.

"I just ….."

"Wait," Patricia said cutting her short midway. "Via Turkey was his date?"

"Yeah!" Elina replied glumly.

Patricia’s eyes were alight with mischief.  "Then she’s our way in."

Elina raised her brows.

'What did her mother mean?'
