Chapter 14

The sun was at its peak in the sky, but its heat had been shielded by the winter weather. Kelvin had landed in Boston a few minutes ago. He drove speedily to the Better Life hospital and ran into the hospital impatiently.

All eyes fell on him as he sauntered past the nurses and patients awaiting one thing or the other. One of the nurses was coming down his path, on seeing him, she knew he was a Woodluck. Her jaws dropped, as she waved at him in amazement.

"Good morning sir," a large number of the nurses greeted in unison, but Kelvin was not hearing them. He walked briskly, without minding what they were talking about.

Back in his office in Vancouzer, he had received a call from Uncle Theo, saying his grandpa had collapsed, and was on life support now. He left Pamela to handle the company and rushed down to the hospital immediately.

When he got to his Grandpa's ward, he stopped at the entrance door, on seeing his Mom sitting beside his bed. Her eyes were red and filled with despair.
