Chapter 5

"Hey, Thames! Long time no see," Rose smiled. Thames immediately shut the door on her face in fear. She flinched, but Rose continued to knock. "Please, just a few minutes," Rose shouted. Thames sighed and opened the door. Rose smiled before entering the house.

"What are you doing here?" he asked again. "Can't I sit first?" Rose asked. "Sit," he stated. She sat and looked up at him. "I have something very important to ask and tell you," her face was serious. Thames' heart began to race.

Thyme walked into his apartment with lots of groceries in a nylon bag. He walked in with a smile on his face. "Gosh! It's like having a girlfriend is a problem for me," he hissed as he arranged the groceries in the fridge. He walked to his couch and laid on it, bringing out his phone. He scrolled through his gallery. "I miss you," he kissed his phone. He put it away before walking into the bathroom.

"Hey sis, have you gotten all the documents we need? We just need his signature on them, that's all," Ray told his sister over the phone. She scoffed a little before continuing to talk. "Alright, let's talk more about it tomorrow."

Meanwhile, Mia stood at the entrance eavesdropping on their conversation. "What are they talking about?" she couldn't help but wonder. Seeing that he had already ended the call, she decided to turn back and walked away.

"The nerve," she muttered, gritting her teeth. A smirk appeared on her face. She picked up her phone and made a call to someone.

"Boss... Boss," a bodyguard ran towards Ray, who had just come out from the room. "Are you out of your mind? Do you want to bring down this house with your poverty-stinking voice!" he snapped. "I'm sorry, boss," he immediately bowed his head. Ray was about to walk past him when he spoke again. "I have something to deliver. I was told it was very important." The bodyguard shivered.

"I need to have breakfast..." "Some people broke into the underground house, and they are missing," he was forced to speak and was interrupted. Ray stopped in his tracks, and the phone in his hand fell to the ground. The expression on his face was difficult to read. "Find them," his voice echoed in the building.

Two people got out of a plane. They walked majestically to two Lamborghinis. "Welcome back, Boss ma," a bodyguard greeted a lady. One could smell wealth radiating from her. She entered one of the cars, and it immediately zoomed off. The guy also walked to the other Lamborghini.

"Everyone should hurry. They will be here soon," Lady Rose spoke dryly. Her mind drifted to something, and she sighed. She scanned the area before taking her seat somewhere. A lot of delicious meals were seen on the large dining table.

"They are here," a maid rushed in, her voice echoing in the room. Everyone departed, arranging themselves in two lines, giving a long bow. Lady Rose just walked out slowly, folding her hands. "This treatment is meant for the real heir and not the spoiled brat," she rolled her eyes.

Tessa walked up to her with a wicked smirk on her face. "Long time no see, old hag," Rose only stared at her. Everyone was already watching in silence. Her brother just passed without saying anything. Tessa rolled her eyes at his action.

"You've really grown big," Tessa mocked. Frustrated by her lack of response, Tessa asked, "Why aren't you bowing like the others?" "Do you want to know why?" Lady Rose finally spoke out. The maids watched in fear. They still wondered where she got her boldness from and why she never feared any of the family. "That's because I don't work for you but for someone else," Rose spoke honestly. Tessa gritted her teeth and watched her walk away. If it was someone else, she would have dealt with them. Everyone began whispering after they had left.

Thyme watched in awe. "Everything here seems weird," he thought before they all walked in through another route. "I think we have a cute male chef," Tessa whispered into her brother's ear. "At least he isn't as handsome as I am," he boasted. "He's far more handsome than you, nitwit," she rolled her eyes.

A figure descended the stairs almost immediately. "My babies are here," her voice was heard. "Where is dad?" Rylan asked. "Vanished," Mia forced a smile. "Dad is still doing that," Tessa asked. "How was your journey?" Mia quickly changed the topic.

"What do you mean someone broke in?" Kelvin yelled with all the strength left in him. Anger could be seen raging in his eyes. "I... They... They came unnoticed," the man began to shiver, peeing his pants. "Master, I'm sorry. I promise I'll do something about it," Gunshots echoed in the room, interrupting the man. He quickly shut his mouth. "I give you two fucking days, and you know what happens when you fail. I hate failure," he walked out. "Go find them!" the man yelled at the other bodyguards, who were already shaking.

Mia continued to discuss with her children while snacking and devouring food. Just then, Ray walked in. Mia made to stand up but halted after seeing the pleading looks on her children's faces. Ray didn't say anything but sat down and started to eat.

"Welcome, Dad," Tessa was the first to speak. Mia just scoffed. "How was your flight?" he simply asked. "Great," they both replied. They continued to eat. "I have some surprises for you," Mia smiled. "I love surprises," Tessa smiled. "Just wait until..." Mia was interrupted when Ray cleared his throat and spoke, "Table manners." There was a long silence again. Mia hissed, stood up, and walked away. Rylan did the same, leaving his sister and dad.

Tessa, seeing that she wasn't comfortable, said, "I'll just go..." She didn't complete her statement before walking off to the elevator. Thyme just watched in awe.

Two people were being tied up together and driven to an unfinished building in a van. "Who are they?" Emma panicked. Bruce sighed in frustration. "I wish I was dead. I'm tired already," he replied. "Don't say that, hon. I'm sure something will save us. This can't last much longer," Emma tried to convince him.

The door finally opened. "Hello, lovelies," they were both shocked after seeing the person who had just spoken.
