Xavier was seated in the interrogation room, with his hands restrained and attached to the table. The faint light created elongated shadows on his face, emphasizing the seriousness in his gaze. He understood that this opportunity to meet with the commissioner was his final chance for freedom, and he was determined not to waste it.

Maxwell, the attorney, had assured him that the commissioner would come and see him. He had placed the required phone calls, and all they could do was be patient. Time passed slowly, but Xavier stayed composed, his thoughts filled with strategies and backup plans.

Accompanied by two officers, Commissioner Graham entered the room as the door made a creaking sound. He had a tall, commanding presence with a serious expression that seldom showed feelings. He waved his hand to dismiss the officers and sat down across from Xavier.

Graham started addressing Mr. Richmond, his tone icy. "You need to persuade me in five minutes why it's worth my while to stay here."
